I DON'T KNOW. MAY BE A DIRTY PCV VALVE. USUALLY EASY TO REPLACE. HAD AN OLDS WITH PIN HOLE IN RADIATOR HOSE THAT ONLY LEAKED WHEN DRIVING
CAR, SO OUT OF SIGHT. CONSIDER A 'RADIATOR PRESSURE TEST' WHICH MAY QUICKLY SHOW UP
YOUR LEAK. IF LEAK INSIDE ENGINE, ANTIFREEZE MAY
SHOW UP ON ENGINE DIP STICK OR AS SWEET SMELLING FUMES FROM EXHAUST TAIL PIPE.

Replace the catalytic converter,it is defective and allowing exhaust gases to pass through it untreated.Run the oxygen sensor readings and you should see the rear sensor readings close to the front sensor readings which has then set the p0420.

First check All the fuses there should be several burned in the engine compartment fuse block and at least One in the dash fuse block. With any luck one of these fuses protected the computer if not you'll have to replace the PCM and get it programmed. This is a good time to pin out the PCM circuits to make sure sensors haven't been harmed, also check the charging system because the diodes in the alternator rectifier can't handle reverse polarity. I hope this helps. Take care.

Doesn't have a flasher relay , the SJB - smart junction box (computer) controls the flashers . If it were a flasher relay none would work .
The smart junction box (SJB) monitors the multifunction switch position by sending multiple voltage reference signals to the multifunction switch. When the multifunction switch is in the LH or RH TURN positions, or the hazard lamp switch is pressed, that input signal is routed to ground.
When the SJB receives a request for a turn signal or hazard lamps, the SJB supplies voltage to the appropriate turn lamps.
The timed on/off cycle is determined by the SJB and is set to flash approximately 80 times per minute if both the front and rear turn lamps operate correctly. If an individual turn signal lamp is inoperative, the SJB flashes the remaining turn lamp approximately 160 times per minute.

Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop. They will hook up a factory ore professional tool a read DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes in the smart junction box . Don't take it to a auto parts store an expect them too. They can not read these type code's .

Think about what you said of your problem. It starts using the button and will not run when button is released. Meaning you only have power to the coil when the button is pressed. Think about it, no run when no button. A wire to the coil is not hot. You have to have power from the switch when it's on in order for it to run. Find the power wire to the coil and be sure that wire has power when the switch is on. It will keep running then.
