Protect light comes on when rca cables are hooked
Make sure you have a correct ground. Grounds will have problems doing this. Connect to a bolt, but make sure it isnt a colored one. Also make sure your rca cables arnt neg and connected to a positive :) haha
How do i hook up a B4.250.2 Amp to a home sterio?
Hello umbaftroml,
Here's a link to the owners manual: Scroll down to the B4.250.2 and right click "Download Manual".

You'll need some source of 12V DC power which is not available on your home stereo. A 12V battery or DC power supply will work OK. You'll also need to wire in a toggle switch to "trigger" the amp to turn on. Just put the toggle switch inline with a diode for isolation between the power wire and the "remote" terminal on the amp. Flip the toggle on when you need to use the amp.
The speaker connections and source connections are all shown on page 6 of the manual and would in any case, be the same as if you were installing the amp in a vehicle. Be aware that most home stereo speakers are 8 ohms, whereas speakers and subs designed for vehicles are usually 4 ohm or sometimes even 2 ohm. This will not be a problem. you shoud be able to drive 8 ohm speakers, they just won't be as loud because the amp will not produce it's full power into an 8 ohm load. Plug your RCA's into your home stereo's preamp outputs, or if there are no preamp outputs, use the speaker level inputs on the lower edge of the amp.
Hope this helps.
Ow do i hook it up to my home sterio system?
Not really possible, as a car amp requires a remote signal (usually a 'pulse' of 5 to 6 volts), to turn on.
Maybe you could wire up a small homemade battery/switch box to the amp to pride the switch on signal?
I have a lightnig audio amp its 760 watts not sure whats wrong
Did it stopped working ?
check your main fuse line under the hood ?
you should have one ! replace it ?
know if it works fine out what ohms is your amp best plays at!
and connect the correct woofer ohms ..
for that power at the most two 8 inch woofers or one 12 ich thats pushing it!
AMP not workin
have you tried bridging 12 v supply to the remote wire to see if it switches on if it doesnt you either have bad earth or amp is faulty
Amp won't turn on
disconnect audio inputs and outputs and see if one of those are causing it , if it still does it with all audio inputs and outputs disconnected then there is a problem with the power amp
B2.300.4
It sounds like the amp has shorted output transistors. They would need to be replaced.
Subwoofer problem
take a look at the amp is there a light on with the car running and stereo on? if no check the big black ground wire that connects to bare metal somewhere near the amp , also check the big red wire for 12 volts and the small wire for 12 volts let me know -jeff
Amp problem
Are you sure that the terminal isn't shorted to the case of the amp?
If it's not, the amp probably has a shorted output transistor.
If you want to repair it yourself, read through the following page. It explains the basics. Let me know if you have any questions.
Basic car amp repair primer
Overhaul light (red) stays on!
This is not a ovehaul light. It is called the protect indicator. It kicks in when the amp detects a fault on it's output. Disconnect the speaker / sub. Power up the amp and see if the light goes out. If it does you Sub is toast and needs to be replaced. If it stays on then the amp is done.
Hey
The larger transistors clamped to the the heatsink are the output transistors. The sample amp on the page that I posted on the previous message explains the basics. I would need clear photos of the inside of the amp to be more specific.
I have a 2001 gmc jimmy 4dr does
They should work fine. If nothing else, Just make adaptor plates for them out of wood and cover with carpeting. Are they going in the doors or in back somewhere?
POWER
Have you connected the remote wire from the stereo to the amp? assuming it has one.
If the stereo has not got a remote wire you can link it from the positive 12 volt on the amp to the remote connection on the amp, usually it's in between the ground connector and the 12volt.
Pb2600 car amp
It might, at say...6000% distortion. For a true amp power rating look for the RMS per channel specs. This is a much more realistic rating of what the amp can actually put out continuously...
Blown fuses
the reason could be because the energy is not well installated or your speaker wires are toucing somehow.
AMP not workin
if you saw smoke something fried, im surprised it still kicks on at all. my best advice is if you kno how to use a soldering iron, see if you can locate the problem, (i.e. melted wires and such), if not best would be to look for a new amp. hope this helps
