If your laptop works fine while plugged in but stops working while unplugged it's likely that either your laptop battery is bad or your laptop is not charging the battery properly. Below are steps that can be taken to help identify the cause of this issue.

Leave power plugged in

Make sure the computer has been charging from the power plug for at least two hours before attempting to unplug it.

Remove and reconnect battery

In some situations the battery can become loose. Removing it and then put it back into the laptop.

Third-party utility

Use a third-party battery utility to determine the total capacity of the battery. For example, BatteryCare is a free software utility capable of doing this.

Replace battery or AC adapter

If your computer is still in warranty we suggest skipping to the next step.

If the above steps have been completed, we suggest replacing the battery in the computer or AC adapter.

In most situations it's a bad battery. check all power and data leads from motherboard to hard drive and all of your cd/dvd drives make sure connections are secure dust free and not faulty computers need all power and data to travel through every working device and to finish its cycle so any faulty lead will end in computer error or shutdown or fail to boot make sure your computers RAM modules are securely seated with no dust in the sockets also the Cmos battery has charge and seated with no dust in the sockets

some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered inhope this helps

Hi,Don't attempt to do this yourself, if you're not familiar with this task.Take your Laptop to your nearest PC shop and have the folk there do this for you, it's not expensive and the battery costs very little.I hope this assists you in getting fixed.Cheers,Peter

t hdd {hard drive } look up the restore bottons if you have acess to the internet it is usely FN +F10 on start up on most laptops other than that you need to install a fresh copy of windows or hdd no good
