First thing I would check for are any shorts along the wires. Just because you get continuity does not mean the wire is good. What you are looking for is something that is grounded to the frame/body that should not be that is causing a drain. You will also need to check the alternator to make sure it is good as well (turning properly and voltage coming off of it on the return to the battery. Next would be replacing the board itself (power supply board first).

Precor Error 27, Too Much Drive Motor Current Probable Cause 1. The running belt and/or deck are badly worn. 2. Drive motor is shorted or de-magnetized causing a high power demand. Corrective Action

1. Check the amp draw using a clamp on AC volt-amp meter during loaded and no load conditions and compare values to a similar treadmill that is known to have a good running belt and deck. Replace the belt and/or deck if necessary. Don't forget, some units have a double sided deck which means it may be flipped over rather than replaced if it has an unused side.
2. Test unit with a known good drive motor. Replace drive motor if necessary.

Merry Christmas The Steps for Newer Style Console Calibration 1.Locate the calibration area on the rear or underside of the console (a hole, near the console's center, that goes through to the electronics board. (This hole should not have a screw in it.) 2.Insert a pencil (eraser end), into the hole and feel around for the cal button (will click when pressed). 3.Press the button 2 times (with the pencil eraser). The first click should show CL11 in the console, the second click should show CL21. 4.If the process was done correctly, and CL21 appears in the console, you are in "calibration mode." The next few steps consists of pressing buttons on the console and observing settings. This will not require any other tools. 5.Press ENTER. CL22 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window. 6.Press ENTER. CL23 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window. 7.Press ENTER. If the letter "F" appears in the SPEED or INCLINE window when the power button is pressed 2 times, the treadmill is indicating a failure somewhere either in the SPEED or INCLINE (depending on the window the "F" appeared in). Troubleshooting the failure would be the next step. Reset: Unplug the treadmill. Locate the console key and place the safety or reset key into the treadmill console. Replace any parts that need replacing, or is large enough to trigger with a pencil eraser or Q-tip. Plug the treadmill plug back into the wall. Use the Q-tip to press the reset button. It may be necessary to hold the reset button down for a few seconds. "CL11" will appear in the display of the treadmill.

Keep pressing the enter key until the numbers cycle through to the number "CL26." Press enter one more time. The letter E should appear on the display screen.

Also some of these units that do not have the 9 volt battery, still used the same console shell.
