This may not help but I had the same issue with a KenMore side by side with bottom freezer. We would shut it and it would bounce back open just a bit and not enough to notice at a glance and not enough to set off the 'door open' alarm. I had to order the parts which took a week but fixed it for $10 or less and in less than 5minutes. On the bottom of both my doors at the hinge is a plastic piece that is the catch. I had to be on the floor to see it but it was evident that it was worn. Replacement cured the problem.

I believe the "tray" is supposed to get heated at end to let the ice release. Faulty "heater connection?" May need repairman diagnostic.

Try moving your settings around..Also check the seals around the fridge.. Make sure the doors closing good. IF it's not sealing good it causes it to run to long and it will freeze up...Also make sure your wife (Lol) is not pushing things all the way to the back or sides. The air has to circulate. Make sure that the fan on the compressor is running also....That will make it freeze up. But if you can fix it it will be better to get someone that knows what there doing. I waited to long and had to change the compressor...It's giving signs that something is about to happen...Don't wait until you have to buy another..

Sounds like unit has stopped cooling properly. Time to call service.

The defrost timer sticks in defrost mode and then comes out of it. I've been out of the service industry long enough to not be able to tell you on your model where it is located. Defrost timers on frost free refrigerators are a very common problem.

Miele should be one of the best but better replace the unit. Once they get worked on it might break down again in the near future. Save yourself the headache
