Your laptop has a card slot, it will take a pcmcia expansion card.
It may be cheaper to buy an ethernet card with a rj45 port, rather than trying to repair the laptops built in port.

maybe you can borrow an external cd drive from someone. someone else told me they were able to boot from a thumb drive and install windows. just found this real quick. see if you can use this

Was unit wet or dropped? Try unplugging memory and reloading it, check power at end of wiring to see if their is voltage.

"rom"? What exactly are you trying to do? Are you referring to ROM as part of the tablet's memory? If yes, you probably will not be able to do it. ROM is a memory chip built onto the circuit board itself inside the tablet. You would need to completely dismantle the tablet to do it. Most tablets are not built to be taken apart for repairs.

Question edited for clarity. You can't. You have to fix the Volume button first as it is the thing that initiates the reset. But you can try the volume Up button instead. Some version of Android will work with either or both Up and Down.
