Keeps blowing the fuse.

Sounds like its compressor is pulling too many amps trying to start, thereby blowing the fuse. That would indicate that the compressor is most likely locked up. If so, it's time to replace that dehumidifier. Repair by a shop is far too costly, and you're better off using those bucks to buy a new unit.

I have a comfortaire bhd501-d that is very noisy. Any solutions? I checked the screws on compressor and they are tight.

Pull the plug on the unit and strike it moderately with your hand listening for any vibrations. Try to pinpoint the source of that vibration and correct it. You should also place the unit on solid ground to eliminate the possibility of the noise being amplified by the surface it is sitting on. "Very noisy" is very subjective. Best I can do for now. Please post your findings
