old monitor , no PC stated, nor cable used < VGA> test this old monitor on 2nd PC, if fails the monitor is bad. it is 14 years old today, 2005 made all this old are bad the toxic CCFL lamps go bad long ago. best is the recycle center, it and buy only monitors and laptops 2010 or newer, or you get CCFL backlamps again. the monitor this old has near zero street value, and repair costs are huge, nobody puts $1000 saddle on a $5 15 year old horse, The CCFL panel can cost $100 and 1 to 2x that for labor a used monitor is like $40 ,even walfart sells them called refurbs.

This requires more technical in person diagnosis. some things you can try are to boot in to the bios menu.

• To do this you will have to watch as it is turning on and on one of the startup screens it will tell you to press one of the function keys (F10, F2,F12, and so on) click the one that says "bios" or "settings".
• After that you will need to search through all the settings for something called the "IDE self test" run that once, it will take a while.
• and lastly look for another option called the boot order. you have to make sure that the option that says hard drive is first.

The address bar may have been hidden in the settings options, usually it is near other settings such as "show Menu bar" and "show bookmarks Tab" etc

The viewty will play .avi (divx) and MP4 files providing the display resolution is not above 320x240. If the the display resolution is above this for either format, you will receive a "file type is not supported" error. Please be aware that the viewty CAN play Divx .avi, Xvid .avi, .3GP and MP4, but only if they are not above that resolution.

So, I suggest you to buy a new writer.

Windows Media Player, and many others, will not play everything, regardless of your hardware and it's supporting software.

To overcome this, I recommend a free media player such as VLC (Video Lan) which is free and has a huge amount of codecs and a multitude of other features, including the abilitiy to play most "Region Locked" movies. There are several other good free ones also such as GOM etc, but I prefer VLC due its' mutifaceted capabilities.

Try a reset. The Reset button is on the front panel in the bottom right corner. Once you open the cover you will need a long pin to push the reset button hole. Be patient as it takes a while to boot up.

Use a 3rd party DVD burning software, it can burn a complete DVD easily.

In order to burn any cd you first need a program to burn with.
roxio is one of the better burning studios that is out their. if your computer is new i would suggest refering to the users manual for further assistance the program may all ready be loaded on the computer. ok?

Verify that you have the last firmware (A14) on the Dell Support web site. Then check the CSS status of the DVD (should be unlocked) with this utility

and finally verify that the DVDs are actually readable, and that the DVD reader works (try reading / burning a data CD-ROM or data DVD).

Check also that the video player software is set to the correct region and there are no errors in the Event Viewer (Hit Start, choose Run, type EVENTVWR.MSC and Enter). DVD events should be either under System or Applications.

DVD REGION FREE & BLUE-RAY REGION FREE To change the Region code on your DVD player, open Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device manager, and click on DVD/CD ROM drives, then right click on the DVD drive and click Properties then click on DVD Region. You can enter a new region and it also shows you how many changes have been made. NOTE you can make only 4 changes and the player will lock permanently on the 4th change. If you want to play DVDs from any region you maybe able to upgrade the firmware to make it region free BUT if you make a mistake or installed the wrong firmware the player will be a piece of junk. The best solution to make the player region free is to install a piece of software (Passkey for DVD) that allows you to play DVDs from any region and Passkey for Blu-ray that allows you to play Blu-rays from any region. Your TV's backlight most likely has reached its end of life cycle (pundido na). Try illuminating the screen with a flashlight (flashlight test) and if you see the picture partially, the led lamp needs replacing.

Is this a copy of a game or the original. If you're trying to play off a copy, then the game is 10 to 1 copyprotected. You get this problem when a copy protected game is copied and trying to play it from the copy.
