I doubt that you'll be able to getmuch support for a product that hasn't been released to the puiblic yet.

The edition you have will be a Release Candidate which was released to developers to find any bugs.The RTM has only just been released to manufatures so that they can develop the drivers for when it goes on general release.

Basically you're jumping the gun a bit.

use any dvd burning software ... choose option "copy dvd" and after that give the source and destination the same..ie source and destination should be the same..this allows the dvd to make a copy not on the hard disc...and after copying the source dvd, the drive ejects and insert new blank dvd.. and you are done

try using different media ( non light scribe ) and second try using a program such as nero premium or easy media creator 9/10.Most of my dvd's have been successful with good quality especially with nero ultimate/premium

Install k-lite codec pack ,you are missing codec. Some recommend vlc player.

Are you sure that your ROM can't play the disc or is it that you don't have a program to play the disc? To my knowledge Windows XP didn't come packaged with a DVD Decoder program; except for XP Media Center. There are some FreeWare programs out there that you can download, or you can pay for the program that decodes DVDs so that you can watch them. If your DVD isn't recognizing any type of DVD that you put into the ROM, then try playing a CD\DVD player cleaning disc in it. If that doesn't work, then you will probably have to get another DVD-ROM.

HI nIKITA2471. If its a faulty drive try this. Step Remove the top of the unit, using the appropriate-sized Philips screwdriver. Consult the manufacturer's warranty details to determine if this will void it. Step Apply power to the unit, and eject the tray. Lay two paper towels over the internals of the unit, with the paper resting on the sides of the chassis. Power will remain on during this procedure. Step Spray three short bursts of WD-40 (or similar lubricant) under the plastic disc that grabs the DVD and pulls it into the motor and drive shaft (it will be a quarter-sized black or gray disc that is attached to the spindle motor). Let settle for a few seconds. Step Place a commercial DVD into the tray, and allow it to spin up. If it does not, your player may require professional service. Step Gently clean up excess lubricant sling (throw off that occurs when the motor spins up) with paper towels and cotton swabs, paying special attention to the laser assembly. Step Re-attach the top of the unit. do not let any spray get on to the little lens that reads the disc. or you could try just buying a lens cleaning disc and see if that works first.

Here is what I suggest. I would go ahead and upgrade your OS. Windows Vista actually has worse performance than Windows 7/8/10. If you could supply the product serial I could point you to some proper drivers.

Go into device manager and delete that disk drive and then reboot and it should reinstall it. That will separate the drivers and put the old one back.

ERROR 43? Check your SATA connection. HERE'S HOW I FIXED MINE. (IE. Computer tries to install driver for BD burner, but ultimately fails, and gives the message. "Unsuccessful" and/or "Microsoft Windows stopped device. Error 43") The SATA CONNECTION on my BD burner's EXTERNAL CASE had gone bad. TO TEST IT. I used a SATA/IDE to USB Adapter Cable I bought for about $10 on amazon.

• I unscrewed the external case to get at the internal drive, and plugged the SATA adapter cable directly into the internal BD burner drive (bypassing the case assembly), and plugged the other end into my computer USB port.
  • PS My BD burner POWER was working OK, so I left the big white 4pin power adapter connected to the original external case.

VOILA! Both my laptop and my desktop PC recognized the LG BD burner again and assigned it a drive letter (like it used to do).

• Now I either need to (1) Buy a NEW EXTERNAL case ($10 - $30), (2) install it as an internal drive (could get problematic if "ANYDVD" is installed) or (3) just leave it connected via the cheap adapter cable.

It's super EASY (& inexpensive) to TEST this before spending $$$$ on a new equipment. Hope this helps someone. It had me miffed for a while there.

yes... but you need to have a good ammount of RAM memory and Disk drive space to achieve that since dual layer disc are up to 8 gigs..

No driver required. Linux will use a built in universal driver.

hi, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software. if not try that first, then check all connections, failing that I think your drive has had it.

Hi, if it is not "plug and play" go to the manufacturers website, if it is a reputable make the drivers should all be there

Try deleting upper and lower filters of your optical drive. To do that, run regedit on start search. Then, follow this path: local machine, system, current control set, control, class, 4D36E965- E325 - 11CE - BFC1- 08002BE10318. then on the window under Name, look for upper and/or lower filters. right click on it and delete. restart pc. then you're good to go.

Update your windows and the restart you pc after plunging out from electricity for 3 minutes

Open it and try to clean it, may be a dirty laser as to why it is not reading, or something faulty with the dive internal mechanism. I would also try a different power connector and data port. Start-Control pannel-System-Hardware tab(I don't know how it appears in english, bcause I have a Spanish O.S)

Then you will se a list of your hardware.

Look for DVD-CD drives and double clik to see if a driver is installed and corresponds with your hardware.

You have few possibilities:

1) an exclamation mark appears near the drive: this means that the driver was not properly installed: In that case double click and sear for a new driver

2) You have a driver that doesn't correspond to your harware:
Do the same as 1)

2) The drive installed is the correct one: The problem can be a hardware one.Note the exact name of the driver and the version and go to LG site and look for a new one

3) No DVD/CD drive appears in the list: Go to Start_control pannel_ add hardware and let windows search for your DVD and install the apropiate driver.Stay connected to Internet to let the system search on MS .
