your cd/dvd does not need any software to run/read you might need to get some burning software if you want to start burning data to disks

you might want to use free nero lite or you might want use other free burning software

either from majorgeeks.com or cnetdownload.com

you will have to select the option to burn a dvd depending on which burning software you are using once the dvd rw is inserted into the dvd drive when you open your software you might have select the option to burn dvds or burn it in an iso

I had the same problem.
It's the fault of writer .
So, I suggest you to buy a new writer.

Try using this software, Image Burn. It works for me every time. I gave up on all others. This program will burn ISO's to ISO's, it will burn ISO's to Boot Disks, it will make files into ISO's, it does it all.

Also, just to clear up the term, when you burn a ISO you are generally trying to make a bootable disk, you are not actually burning the ISO, but expanding and burning the files onto a CD or DVD that you will use to install something on another computer.

you not give enough infomation,really,..but try another program for burnin,..1st,,then use some tidy,dvd blanks...like verbitim,or philips etc,,if still the same,then change your dvd writer,..they are very cheap now,.its not often a firmware problem

The issue is with your burner. Bet you a cup of coffee (milk and no sugar) that if you replace the unit all of your issues will be sayonara!

Better first checking the connections to it. It might have somehow become disconnected. Then do a hardware search. Also look at your hardware profile, see if there are any unknown devices. You might have to re-install drivers.

My computer is not showing the option of DVD option in my computer

Optical drives (at least all modern one's) do not require a driver when run in a Windows environment. The OS provides the support automatically. Is the drive shown/listed in My Computer?

It's not a driver disk.... at least not for Windows OS's. Driver support comes from the OS not from a disk. The disk most likely only contains burning software, dvd decoding software, and possibly dos driver.

I'll recommend you to directly try Driver Detective and let the software have a free scan to automatically detect & update the missing LG drivers. This way things can be much easier & efficient. Also you don't have to risk install wrong drivers which might cause severe system issues.Best regards!
