I would guess ur friend is sending them from an iPhone and if that’s the case tell them to press and hold the txt after they send and click “send as text” it will take a couple of time but will eventually stop doin that

Phones are some electronic devices and they will not work always as they are intended to be. :-)
It needs a refresh and up to date software(OS). And as you have mentioned, it is some sort of an old device and by now I guess it may not work as it was when it is brand new.
Give it a rest. Do turn-off-then-turn-on at least once in a couple of days and you'll be good to go. And also, fed it with some high speed memory card and clear up the phone content to the memory card.

Not specifically for text messages but you can put a phone lock on. The only this is you'll need to do this every time you want the handset locked.
Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > Security > Handset Lock

Open ATMT settings n U'll b asked to enter ATMT code.
Enter 000000.
Now, enter ur details n other phone numbers if U've r else enter ur friends/ family mems num(Only 3 numbers can b stored).
When U change d SIM while ATMT is activated, a message correspondng ur details n newly inserted sim number gets messaged to d numbers dat U've stored......

I have lost my lg kp500 mobile.
Short from calling your lost mobile number and physically listening for the ringing if nearby, sorry to say that it would say that it would be near impossible to trace it!
The only option you have is to have your Mobile number disabled on that specific SIM card and report the specific EMEI for your handset as LOST so as to prevent the handset to be used on any Network thus rendering it useless ... and with a bit of luck, encourage the third party to return it!

PUK CODE: This is usually a problem associated with a LOCKED SIM CARD. This can sometimes happen when you enter your PIN incorrectly too many times. I would recommend going to a retail location of your service provider (ex. AT&T Store) and ask for a SIM CARD SWAP. This service is free for most providers. If you are charged for a SIM swap, tell the person helping you that SIM swaps do not cost any money and that they are free and that is what you were told over the phone.

There are websites online that provide unlocking services for a fee. If you google "phone unlock service" you will see many options.
There is also another way to go.
You can call yout service provider (ex. ATT, T-Mobile) or the company that branded the phone (the company that the phone is locked to) and tell them that you would like the unlock code for your phone. They will probably ask WHY you want the unlock code. Tell them that you will be going out of the country and need the phone unlocked in order to use a pre-paid SIM card in the country of destination. They will then get you the unlock code typically within three days. Hope this helps.
How to change message memory and how to lock
You can't change the memory for your text messages. The LG Cookie can store up to 500 messages on the internal memory.
In terms of locking your messages, you can lock the handset but you will need to do this proceedure every time you want to lock people out of your mobile.
Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > Security Settings > Handset lock

How to unlock my Indian kp500 puk code?
PUK is PIN unlocking Code which can only be provided by the service provider of you SIM card. You don't have any other option to get a PUK.
When you enter 3 wrong PIN to your SIM card it will ask for PUK code which will then help you to reset the PIN with a new code. In case you accidentally enter Wrong PUK for more than 10 times it will damage your SIM and you will have to replace it.
Hence you are suggested to contact your Mobile Service Provider and Get the PUK. No other way to get a PUK.
