The actual answer is to press the dots, but use a dull plastic tool that fits "within" the dot. Otherwise the width of your finger is too imprecise to calibrate the dots and screen. Hope you, and others, get this and try it. It works. I just discovered it and did it, successfully after only about 10 presses.

Have you checked the tomtom website (www.tomtom.com) for information / instruction / support to do this ? Basically, you need: - to have (i.e. download and install) the TomTom HOME (or MyDrive Connect) software on your computer - to set up a TomTom user account and register your device - to connect the device to your computer, and start the TomTom software. - to sign in to your TomTom account and view the info/updates available for your device - to select and download the data/software/map that you want, to update your device I'm assuming you have a TomTom device and not one (an older model) that TomTom has reduce/limit/stop providing support/updates.

Hold the power button for about 10 seconds, it should shut down so you can restart it to see if that cures it. Otherwise power has to be removed or let it go dead , then charge and restart.
