i need the software to install my printer. is there some where you can download it for free.

Use the Vista driver in Windows 7. First, check the System Type for your Windows 7 - 32-bit or 64-bit. On your computer, go to Start menu > right-click on Computer > Properties.

After downloading, execute the file and follow the instructions on your computer screen.

go to www.lexmark.com click on drivers and downloads then click on OS compatibility lists. Click on MAC OS X and then click on home or small office/home office. This will take you to a complete list of compatible drivers for the MAC OS X for all of lexmarks printers. If it does not appear then there are no MAC OS drivers. Which I looked at for you and they do not have any. But you will see a list for the printers that they do have them for.

take out cartridges, paper, remove power cable and usb cable. Turn the printer upside down and shake it for a while, then put everything back in.
Make a photocopy again~

I found out after alot of searching to perform a hard reset, put the printer into standby mode ie, flashing power button, hold it for two seconds and then release

the open the printer cover
then press and hold the power button for at least 30 seconds, try 40 if in doubt (yes your finger does become numb at this point)

Let go and wait 40 seconds, and it should then boot back to factory defaults so you can start again

If you do get it working wireless from a mac in infrastructure mode I would like to hear, because I have yet to manage this, connected and routed via a bt voyager 2110 wifi router.

Check to make sure that there is nothing preventing the page from being pulled into the printer. Overlapping words is often caused by the paper feed not moving quickly enough, subsequently causing words to overlap and not span the entire page.
If that doesn't work, let me know and we'll troubleshoot further.

You can't use remanufactured or third party copies. Genuine only. If you are disconnect overnight or do a reset.

There's no way of downgrading the firmware of your printer. Refilled/refurbished cartridges will void the warranty of your printer.

Fit a genuine cartridge.

There is no overide option.

The cartridge toner chip no work, change it.

You will need to replace it. If it was new, contact Lexmark regarding warranty of supplies.

Make sure the cartridge is genuine. If yes, uninstall and reinstall the pc unit and the toner cartridge. If you get the same error a firmware fix may resolve the problem. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support for further assistance.

This may have something to do with the contact springs. Cleaning the toner contact springs with a cloth damped with a bit of alcohol will make continuity more sensitive to the toner cartridge chip. If problem persists, I strongly suggest you contact Lexmark technical support for further assistance. Thanks.

William Casper is correct. The error message means that the cartridge is missing or defective. Please replace the cartridge.

Firstly, switch on the printer without a cartridge inside. Put in the old cartridge and if you get the Error 32, it could be poor contact. Clean the contacts in the printer (contact with the chip on the cartridge). If you don't get Error 32, there could be a problem with the chip contacts on the new OEM Lexmark cartridge or a faulty chip. As for other brands or remanufactured cartridges, it could be compatible parts they used. The chip and toner wheel have to be compatible.

1.Turn the printer off.2.Open Front cover.3.Press and hold X button.4.Relese X when the ! LED is illuminated. Note:Be patient as the LEDs will light up in multiple patterns before finaly stopping at !.5.Close front cover. Note:Observe that green button and 3 other LED will be illuminated at the same time.This is Home position.6.Slowly press X button until the 3 first LED are illuminated (paper,toner,light)Note:normaly this will require you to press the X button 11 to 13 times depending on the options and features installed.7. Press and hold green button until all LED flasch or strobe from left to right then relese the button.wait until this process stops with the same pattern as step 6.8.Press and hold X until the light pappern return to the pattern of four LED in the Home position.9.Turn the printer OFF.10.Turn the printer On.Note:if on a DHCP network, wait 30 seconds to see if the DHCP server/router sends out an IP adress to the device.11.Press green button to print a setting pages and observe that all the TCP/IP settings have been reset.12.Reconfigure the device using DHCP.Auto IP(zero configuration) or the IP Setup Utility.This is my solution to the problem.//Oaklunde

The Lexmark X5495 printer is not a wireless printer, however, you have the option to connect it to a wireless print server. You can then connect the wireless print server to your wireless network so all the computers connected to your network will have access to the printer.
