My MDA 256-100 player tells me "no file" but connect to PC file are there, it would appear I have deleted the operating system , how do I re-load it again

Probably because the files you are trying to play are not .MP3 files (an .MP# file has a name that looks like 'songname.mp3). Those are the only files your player recognizes and can play.

My MDA 256-100 player tells me "no files" but when connected to PC via USB music file appear and I am able to play, what wrong????

This is most likely a file format or digital rights management issue. Make sure the files are in a compatible format. The computer can play them because it is just looking at the player as a storage device and does not rely on it for playback. If the files are .wma, try converting them to .mp3. Your device may have come with software that will perform this function for you.

Is there a manual for the lexar mp3 mda256-100? My daughter gave me one and it has more features that I would like to use.

Is it packed when your daughter gave you the mp3? If so, there should be a manual in the box. Or download it from Internet.Yes, music can be saved to the SD card. In fact generic sd is okay.electronics wholesale

How do i load music on my lexar ldp-400 mp3 player

Hi skidney11...

1...You must download and install Windows Media Player 11 on your computer.
NOTE...Some older MP3 players will not work with Windows Media Player 11 or Windows 7 with Windows Media Player 11.
If this happens to you, then you will have to uninstall Windows Media Player 11 and install Windows Media Player 10.
2...After you have downloaded and installed Media Player on your computer.
3...Open Media Player on your computer.
4...Install all your music into Media Player that you want to install on your MP3 player.
5...Plug in your MP3 player to the computer using your Data/Sync cord, be sure that Windows Media Player is on.
6...Media player should recognize the MP3 player and sync with it.
7...After it is sync'ed with the computer, you can add the music you have installed into Windows Media Player to your MP3 Player.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up.

Hi there.

Connect it to pc and find it in 'my computer', open it up. Click on view/select all and move the songs to your pc. Right click the player icon, select format/FAT, ignore 'Quick format' , then virus scan all your songs, and move them back onto player.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions.

Thank you!

Every time i turn on my mp3 it says incorrect

This happens to every MP3 player eventually. You will need to reset it and reformat. Sorry, there is no easy fix. The MP3 system software has crashed for an unknown reason. It happens.

Often, a crash can be caused by static that you, me, or anybody else can even detect or feel. All we can do is reset the device, format it, and install all of our stuff again. I have had this happen to Sansa, IPOD, TVIO, and others. Just walking across a wooden floor can build up a static charge in your body of over 500 volts, and you would never know it. When you hear the crackle of clothes being pulled out of a dryer, or feel the shock from grabbing a doorknob, the charge is in the tens of thousands of volts! It only takes a 50 volt static discharge to disrupt flash memory like that found in a MP3 player, jump drive, cell phone, etc....

Find the RESET button, and after the unit is turned on, hold it in with a paperclip or something similar for 3 seconds. This will return the unit to factory default, and you can reload it with all your stuff.

A good rule of thumb is that before you touch any portable electronic device, touch the biggest piece of metal that is near you, which will drain any static charge in your body. This is purely preventative, and not a fix-all, but it has helped me overall in not having so many problems with my personal portable electronics.

Good Luck, and thank You for using FixYa!

Hi

To format it Connect it to the computer, go to My computer-> right click on the mp3/mp4 player after it is displayed-> select format-> Format it as FAT32 File system. Formatting the MP3/MP4 player will delete all the songs/data from the player. So, backup all data before formatting it. Hope this helps...

When i switch it on it says incorrect format

Sounds like a format error on the storage. The bad news is the tunes stored on it are probably gone.
Do you have a mini USB B cable that you can connect to a PC? With this you can reformat the internal memory and the SD card.
Good luck.
