Needs to format and I
Hi
To format it Connect it to the computer, go to My computer-> right click on the mp3/mp4 player after it is displayed-> select format-> Format it as FAT32 File system. Formatting the MP3/MP4 player will delete all the songs/data from the player. So, backup all data before formatting it. Hope this helps...

Lexar mda256-100 player from bose
The solution is correct. I emailed
[email protected] and received an email the next day with a firmware patch that reformatted my player.
Just an FYI, this did NOT work under Vista and since I had an XP media center laptop sitting next to me I didn't play with it. On the XP system it worked flawlessly. I ended up with a fully functional MP3 player again, nothing in the folder at all and it only took a minute.
Send them an email and I would expect you'd get a response within 1-2 business days. As mentioned, my response was within 18 hours.
NEEDS TO BE FORMATTED

#1
Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
#2
Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
#3
Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
#4
In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
#5
Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
#6
Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

When i switch it on it says incorrect format
Sounds like a format error on the storage. The bad news is the tunes stored on it are probably gone.
Do you have a mini USB B cable that you can connect to a PC? With this you can reformat the internal memory and the SD card.
Good luck.
How do I charge the battery in my Lexas MP3 player
Just need the drivers downloaded. You can usually get them from there website. Just download the drivers, then double-click on the file once downloaded so it installs into your pc. Then restart your pc, then plug in your mp3 player and you should be good to go!

Is not accessible
The most common cause is a flat battery. There is a trick to charging
the battery in these small mp3 players. It wont charge if it is turned
on, and it won't charges if it's turned off. Here what to do...
1. plug the payer into your USB port. or wall charger
2. switch thje palyer on using the mechanical switch (on the side)
3. turn it off by either holding down the play button, or selecting
"System" from the menu
4. The screen will go black and the battery will begin charging.
Lexar problem
You need to change your USB Port... try the back of your computer.
Or you need a firmware update.
Mp3 player reporting i/o problem
The Input/Output or I/O error is usually a pretty bad error on any Disk or Flash drive! It looks that this I/O error might have corrupted your media player drive directory (commonly know as FAT table).
Confirm the problem by trying to plug your device in a different USB port on your PC/Laptop: if you are still getting the I/O error, you can try to repair your player drive by using Open Windows Explorer -> Properties -> Tools -> Error-Checking facilities.
If Error-Checking cannot repair your drive, then you will unfortunately have to re-FORMAT your device Flash drive and loose everything on that drive (hope you have a good backup on your PC/Laptop)!
I have a lock icon on my screen and the player
if you have a card on ..see if the card is locked...also try maybe is on hold position ......also it may be on hold and the button to not work ...
the other issue it might be locked with a password or some locking devise like it is in phones ..I'm not familiar with the particularly model ..but if you said that it does not appear in computer connection ..this means that is not in an accessible function.. ...
Try also to run the add new hardware and see if the computer sees it when you click added but not installed...
the issue is that it might see it ..but when it tries to get the driver from its firmware ( root folder) ...it has no access...
If you know for sure that it doesn't have a locking by password feature...this means that the hold button just crashed...and it behave by ..opening ...let you know that is in locked position ....and turn back off.. ...
It won;t pop up
PUT IT ON A CHARGER OVERNITE, AT LEAST 4 HOURS. do NOT use your cp as a charger if u can hlep it
