Are these remote controlled dimmers? Do you have failing batteries in one of the remotes? Or perhaps a new remote control device has been introduced in or near your house that interferes with the dimmer remote signal. I had a similar problem that occurred when my boys played with their remote controlled cars.

if it is a gas bulb (mercury vapor, metal halide, or high pressure sodium) the bulb needs to be replaced. they "cycle" when they go bad for a few weeks then completely stop working

Some combo devices can be wired so that switch controls outlet, but other models cannot be wired so switch controls outlet.Look for break-away fin located between dark screws on combo device.
