yes you always switch the power . Which is your black wire here in the USA. The white wire is capped off , thats the wire the unused current uses to go to the grown, Equipment grownd is green and it helps to keep power going threw you to grown

Not an adapter. You need a voltage converter to convert 220Vac to 120VAc.

Add an in-line lamp cord switch. It's very simple.

GFCI's have 4 terminals. 2 marked Load, 2 marked Line. The black and white wires from the power supply MUST be connected to the LINE terminals. The load terminals is where you connect the outgoing circuit (i.e. plug, light etc). Anything connected to the load terminals will be controlled by the GFCI, so when it trips everything on that circuit will go off until you rest it. The other light/switch cannot be connected to the GFI if you want the switch to control it separately.

i assume both switches are single pole? How to wire depends on what wires you have in the box (i.e. the circuit they are in).

If you are talking about A THREE WAY SWITCH, they can be a little confusing for a beginner. here is a link to some drawings that might help.. IF YOU ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT A THREE WAY SWITCH, give me a little more information. 3 Way Switch Wiring Diagram

Try the link below for a diagram. I would think that you have one black feed and two black legs going out, and three common wires that should be wired together with a wire nut. Is this for a ceiling fan with a light? or ?

Easy way.. TURN OF POWER. pull the switch with the wires still attached from the electrical box. Take off one wire at a time from the old switch and place it on the new one.

Where is the switch located? If you buy a replacement switch at Home Depot it usually comes with a diagram that shows you how to wire it. If the switch is built into the light socket just replace the socket the switch is included.

The light and fan are not properly grounded.
