If the battery you changed is new..be sure you format it well and charge it max..if it is a rechargeable one ..and if it isn't rechargeable ..be sure it is new..and a good quality ..
This devices also have an internal battery for settings and such ..and if it was a long time without power..it may have a faulty internal battery that can affect the display of the readings ..and all ...
Consult the manual to see what kinda internal battery it has..and change that too ..(you have to open it for that ..and the model of the battery it will be written on it ..

Ok, I do not know of a manual for your gun. The main thing is learning to handle, load and shoot a muzzle loading gun. hello johan...remove the battery and use the eraser end of a common pencil to clean the contacts in the battery compartment. then reinstall the battery. often after sitting for a year, the contacts are corroded enough to cause your symptoms. joe
