This problem is caused by the 'step' inside the battery cover which prohibits the tip of the battery contacting the nipple inside the cover. I fitted a thin piece of aluminium strip (20thou) and the rangefinder works perfectly now. Note that most new CR2 batteries have higher sides which shields the tip too effectively - check it out.

Light lubes will freeze in cold weather. Try lubricating with a heavier lube. Any moisture onto bolt the isn't properly lubed will freeze the bolt or trigger assembly.

I own 5 of their cameras...what I have to do to get mine to read the sd card is anytime you plug in your controller to the cam start by going to set up camera every time. you don't have to do anything in set up camera just go in and back out and it reads the card. don't get me wrong I have had a lot of problems with them ( I have to use the quarter trick on 2 of them) and have had some other issues but when they work they do pretty good.
