You need to open it up to check the parts inside. First look around to see if there is any plastic parts that are damaged. This might account for the noises inside. If you can not see anything wrong. Radio Shack sells about half a dozen different power cords. I am not familiar with the Lenoxx cord specifically, but it is a good possibility that they carry one that will work.
