My computer just got a new hard drive, and now has
If the computer goes into sleep mode, some devices won't wake afterwards. As a test, either disable sleep mode, or open Device Manager, find the adapter or its USB port and set the power properties to not allow the device to turn off to save power.

Traditionally with ThinkPads:
1. The BIOS password can be reset with the CMOS.
2. The Supervisor password cannot.
3. The HD password cannot.
If it's the harddrive that's locked you will have to replace that. If it's the Supervisor password you need to replace the system board which kind of defeats your purpose.

It really depends on what kind of cold you're talking about. External temperature cool enough to produce condensation in the system can really mess your system up. Even to the point of destroying it. It's always good to keep your system above freezing and even above the dewpoint of where ever you're located.
If you're talking about cold being just starting the computer from any temperature from an "off" power mode to "on" then you could have a video issue. You can check your Event Viewer when it finally powers up to get more info on what caused the problem.
How to remove cmos battery T420
The cmos battery is just under the keyboard. Release screw (1) of the keyboard is beside the ram slots underneath. So remove the ram cover first. Good luck!
Lenovo r61e thinkpad wireless won't come on
Well there are many reasons but from what you've
said it can only be the Switch itself or your Router's
Firmware needs to be updated.
Go to Start: Type cmd in the command prompt Type
ipconfig press Enter look for the default gateway that's
your Routers IP Type the IP number into your Browsers
url or address bar press Enter. Once inside your Router
or Modem/Router view tabs and look for Update Firmware
Follow Prompts If this does not fix your problem then you
must further look into the Wireless Switch the Light is the
Switches Confirmation that it is Working Properly. Also a
Driver will not cause this Function to not work and I know
you said the Drivers are Good and pls don't be Mad but has
the Adapter been Enabled with the Assumption your Computer has an RJ45 port for hard wiring.

i am head of IT for a global ad company and lenovo is one of our clients..
Lenovo should have a partition on its hard drive which should allow you to access this and return it to the state you purchased it in. PLEASE BE AWARE DOING THIS WILL PROBABLY LOSE ALL YOUR FILES. however it looks like its the only option..
if you would like the files off your hard drive then i suggest extracting it and purchasing a hard drive reader SATA I/II to USBand a SATA UK Power adapter with UK Plug.

Can't watch movies in full screen view when running on battery
It might be on a power saving plan. You can change it if you want to but running it on battery while watching movies will drain the battery fast. Anyway, right-click the battery icon on lower right of the screen or search for power options. You can see what plans your laptop is saved to. Choose balanced or high performance or recommended settings.
Just recently bought a levono
My levono does the same thing it virtially turns off the touchpad when typing to stop mouse from moving and causing you issues, I found a setting in the touchpad software to stop this from happening
