Osilating stopped on lasko 2554 fan

Lasko's are good for stripping the gear in the base that makes it oscillate. If it's still under warranty, they will send you a new fan.

The fan fell over. It Stopped working. No

If it fell then the rugged movement may have caused a burst in the wire connection within the coil protective structure... or just a simple disconnection

New Lasko Tower Fan smells when we have it on the ionizer option? Is this smell toxic?

Ionizers generate ozone, that is the same smell that you would have near an electric motor or a copy machine. The smell is caused by electric sparks that occur during the ionization process. Essentially high voltage is applied to a grid, air passes over this grid and electrons jump off of it and into the air. They then attach to any particles that are present in the air and make those particles attractive to anything less charged than they are. There is a limit to how much ozone an air ionizer is allowed to produce because ozone is a respiratory irritant and is not desirable to have in large amounts. Ozone also damages rubber. A commercial air purifier has to certify that it is in compliance with that law in order to be sold. The difference is that they can change characteristic based on how clean the grid is and how much humidity is present.

Need new remote control

If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one. To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability? Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have. Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the site http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/ Check this site too. http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/ Universal remote controls are available at most of the electronic spare part selling shops.

The fan ossilates but doesn't blow any air

my guess just from what you have told me would be the motor on the fan has given up. there aretwo mototrs in it , one to run the fan and the other one makes it ossilate. As a temporary fix if you are able to get the fan apart and access the motor you can give the shaft a manual turn with your fingers and see if it will get it going. also as funny as it may sound sometimes if you just tap on the motor lightly but firmly with a small wrench it will also get it going again. What has most likely hjappened is the little brushes in the motor wear out and dont make a perfect electrical contact once they are worn so a little coaxing sometime gets it going again but no gauranties.
Let me know if this works and you can also let me know the age of it as well. Thanks for your patience and good luck.

How to disassemble lasko hassock floor fan

I'm assuming you want to open the fan up to give it a thorough cleaning. This is how I got one open. First things first, make sure it's unplugged. No need to risk zapping yourself of accidentally turning it on when your fingers are in range of the fan blade... Turn the fan upside down. There are four very long Phillips screws concealed by long plastic sleeves that cover the shafts of the screws, with the ***** heads covered by the rubber feet at the bottom of the unit. Pop out the rubber feet, then loosen the screws (there will likely be an alarming snap when they break loose). The two-piece top of the unit will come loose. You can then remove the screws and the plastic sleeves that hide the screws. Turn the unit right side up and remove the fan blade. The nut holding the blade on is reverse thread, so "lefty loosy, righty tighty" will not apply--turn the nut clockwise to loosen. Remove the nut and lock washer, then pull the blade from underneath the hub (it'll take a bit of force to pop it off. The wire from the motor to the speed control switch connects the base to the cylindrical center portion of the unit. To separate the center portion from the base, pull the knob off of the shaft of the switch and remove the ***** holding it in place. The switch can then be disconnected from the center piece. I'd put the ***** back into the switch to keep it from disappearing. The motor can be removed from the base by removing the three screws holding it to the base from underneath, but unless you're looking to replace the motor, you shouldn't need to do this. Put it back together by reversing the disassembly process.
