Lasko heater beeps too LOUD
I was cleaning out my Lasko ceramic heater 6000, looking for instructions on how to do so, and came across your comment. After I opened it up and cleaned everything out (really easy, no instructions needed, it is all obvious) I started thinking about how much I hate that beep as well. So I decided as long as I had it opened to try to disable it.
Well, I could tell from plugging and unplugging that it was (unfortunately) mounted on the under side of the green circuit board. You will have to unscrew the circuit board completely (all wires still attached) and (carefully!) move it so you can flip it upside down to get to the other side. Note: there were 7 screws to remove and 1 was under the motor and really hard to get to. The motor looked WAY too complicated to remove so I got the screw started just a little with a precision screw driver and turned it the rest of the way with needle nose pliers.
Once the circuit board is off, the beeper is a little black circular thing (about 1/2 inch in diameter) with a little hole in the middle. It has a serial number on it and a "+" symbol. It looks like it is built in two pieces (upper and lower), so I tried to carefully remove the upper piece with needle nose pliers while leaving the lower piece connected to the circuit board. Well, the whole thing ripped out! I thought two things: 1) It will never beep again, and 2) I hope this didn't break a circuit causing the whole thing to fail.
Well, I put the circuit board back on ( I left off the one difficult screw, as 6 of 7 is more than sufficient to hold it on). Put the whole unit back together, and . . . . IT WORKS FINE!!!!!
Good luck!
Question about lasko box fan
Your picture is kind of dark, so I can't say for certain, but I can speak from experience; the black box might be the problem.
The black box is "potted"- filled with epoxy to absorb heat, protect anything near it, and so you can't/won't try to repair it.
The black box frequently contains a capacitor (and probably a fuse). The capacitor's job is to throw the fan motor's magnetic coils into a microsecond of imbalance, and force the fan to start turning in a particular direction. The capacitor is a very common failure. (Ask anyone that works on the exterior compressor/condensor of a home AC unit)
You can usually prove that's the case by helping a fan to start spinning after the power is applied (just be careful, use a pencil and not a finger, for obvious reasons).
In any case, you should seek to replace the "black box", or more easily, fight your innate tendency to fix everything (I fight with that every day) and just reward yourself with a new fan.

Not turning on
pedastal ceramic heater 5565 shuts off after about 5 minutes willl not turn back on
How do you remove front grill of Lasko NSC-243 to enable cleaning? Thanks.
A tower fan should not be opened at all. (It’s unsafe to do so, and may damage your fan.) Every two to three weeks, simply use the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner on the tower fan intake grills to remove lint and dirt, or use a can of compressed air to blow off dust from inner fan blades. That’s it! Your clean tower fan is ready to be plugged back in and get back to keeping your home breezy.

Hi, my 20 in lasko wind tunnel fan is on the blink again.A few months ago I cleaned it & it wouldnt turn back on, finally after days of trying everything & even trying to reason with the thing-out of the blue plugged it in & it came on. GENTLY cleaned it a couple months later-same result. Last week I brought it into another room & have yet to get it to turn back on. Nothing, not a hum, nothing.Someone please help me, I'm recently widowed & it seems like everything I have I is falling apart & am not able to go out & purchase a new one. Thanks everyone, Candi aka/Sweating in N.C.
Unfortunately, it could be a number of things. I assume you have tried something else in the same power point to see that power is there? If the unit is dead, it could be a safety device has tripped out. Check if there is a reset button or similar on the fan. If not, the fan will need to be taken apart to find out what it is. There may be a broken cable or loose wire.
