Lasko CT14320 heater. I dropped it, and it turns on but won't run. I smell burning.

Normally they have a tip over switch in the base. If the tip over is activated there should be nothing, no heat, no fan. It sounds like yours is heating up and burning dust in side it, but the fan isn't running. If you can open it up, you can see if the fan has been dislodged. A new one is $40 at Walmart. https://www.google.com/search?q=Lasko+heater+CT14320 ..

How to change filter on my Lasko model 5560 Tower Fan Heater?

Question edited for clarity. They show your model, and if it has a filter (not mentioned in specs), My guess is the you lift up the black piece at the rear. https://lasko.com/collections/lasko-heaters/products/lasko-5560-digital-tower-heater-with-remote The manuals are very basic and your model isn't listed. Model 5309 below. http://images.salsify.com/image/upload/s--U1j83tBG--/fsxod4mxrt0iju3nfsdv.pdf There is a contact link if you click Support on the upper bar. https://lasko.com/pages/product-instruction-manuals .. Heater keeps shutting off !!

I have model 5532, but I think they all have the same problem. There seems to be a safety device in the ceramic heater that turns off if it gets too hot. It "remembers" when this happens as well and will shut off until it is unplugged for 10-15 minutes.

This happens on even lightly used heaters if used in dusty conditions. Dust builds up behind the ceramic heater and the lack of flow causes it to overheat. The unit must be dismantled and the dust brushed/vacuumed out. The good news is that not only will the heater work again, but it will have better airflow too!

To do this, tech support and other people say to "clean the rear grill", but my rear was not dirty. The front grill had some dust that I vacuumed clean, but did not help. In my unit there are no filters before the air goes through the heater element. The problem is in the center of the heater. Taking out the internal fan (four screws on the sides of the squirrel fan box), I could see that the radiator was over half covered in dust. I cleaned that dust out using a shop vac and the problem went away.

Opening the heater was a little tricky, two of the screws were triangle head screws. Once inside, however, it is a simple proceedure to remove the fan. Of course, you should unplug the heater and wait a while before opening it up to make sure there are no electrical charges stored in the unit.

Clean the filter : Lasko Model #5812

First make sure heater is unplugged. Next, on the side of the heater locate two holes (see image) these are what's keeping everything in front together. unscrewing these and genty pulling sides out lwill release the top filter and front where control knob is and bottom filter where the heated air comes out. Clean filter & re assemble.

Lasko heater beeps too LOUD

I was cleaning out my Lasko ceramic heater 6000, looking for instructions on how to do so, and came across your comment. After I opened it up and cleaned everything out (really easy, no instructions needed, it is all obvious) I started thinking about how much I hate that beep as well. So I decided as long as I had it opened to try to disable it.
Well, I could tell from plugging and unplugging that it was (unfortunately) mounted on the under side of the green circuit board. You will have to unscrew the circuit board completely (all wires still attached) and (carefully!) move it so you can flip it upside down to get to the other side. Note: there were 7 screws to remove and 1 was under the motor and really hard to get to. The motor looked WAY too complicated to remove so I got the screw started just a little with a precision screw driver and turned it the rest of the way with needle nose pliers.
Once the circuit board is off, the beeper is a little black circular thing (about 1/2 inch in diameter) with a little hole in the middle. It has a serial number on it and a "+" symbol. It looks like it is built in two pieces (upper and lower), so I tried to carefully remove the upper piece with needle nose pliers while leaving the lower piece connected to the circuit board. Well, the whole thing ripped out! I thought two things: 1) It will never beep again, and 2) I hope this didn't break a circuit causing the whole thing to fail.
Well, I put the circuit board back on ( I left off the one difficult screw, as 6 of 7 is more than sufficient to hold it on). Put the whole unit back together, and . . . . IT WORKS FINE!!!!!
Good luck!

I am currently using a Lasko 5812 heater. The problem is it keeps shutting off, especially in the high setting. How do I fix this?

SAFETY FEATURES 1. A Tip-Over Switch is built in to prevent operation if the Heater is tipped over.2. A thermal overload protector is built in to prevent overheating.3. If an overheat temperature is reached, the Heater will automatically shut off. It can only resume operation when the user resetsthe unit.To Reset Heater:1. Unplug the Heater and wait 10 minutes for the Heater to cool down.2. After the Heater has cooled down, plug the unit into a 120V~ electrical outlet and follow the operation instructions describedin this manual. TROUBLE SHOOTING TIPS If your heater shuts off unexpectedly or fails to operate, one of the above-mentioned safety features may have been activatedto prevent overheating.1. Be sure the power cord is plugged into a working electrical outlet.2. Check your heater for obstructions blocking air flow and remove them.3. Make certain the Heater IS NOT FACING a wall or large object; this may restrict the air flow.If you have a problem that can not be resolved by the steps listed above, contact Technical Assistance at 800-233-0268, Monday throughFriday, between the hours of 8am and 5pm
