How old is the vehicle this player is in? CD players do get old. I'm assuming you've tried 3 or 4 different CD's? The 'clicking' could be the gearing that pulls the disc in and out. They are often plastic gears which can wear or break over time. Sadly if this is the case you'll need to replace the entire player.
Does your home CD/DVD player or Car Audio fail to play. You pop in a new CD and it whirrs for a while, or even plays a few seconds and then stop playing. Try a CD Cleaning Disc. There are two laser optics in your CD changer, a low power tracking optic and a high power reading optic. If the reading optic gets dusty, the light becomes refracted, and the read fails and stops play or ejects the disc. The discs, have tiny antistatic bristles that gently brush the lenses on the optics. They are available on Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart for less the $15. Do two cleaning cycles and it should fix it.

Not knowing what brand or model, this is a generic fix. On the back or side of your unit should be a reset. It sometimes is a small hole that you need to stick a straightened out paper clip into and press. This should fix your problem.
to your question about how to download music: 1. turn on the mp4 player 2. plug it into your computer's USB port 3. An icon for the folder will come up on "My Computer" 4. using Windows Media Player, select "rip" music from cd 5. in "options" just save it into your computer in mp3 format (this makes a useful backup to save time if you have probems later) 6. Then copy the folder that contains the music from your computer to your mp4 player. 7. Unplug computer, check files run on your player
You can use a MKV video converter to convert the other files to it.I use a MKv converter to do that.you can click it for further information.you can deal with it easily.
You cannot drag and drop music from an audio cd to your computer. You need to rip it. Use itunes or windows media player. Look for the option to "Rip" music from the CD.Rip using media player:

I just got one for Mother's Day and managed to get songs onto it and 2 photos but that's it. I have spent all day trying to get it to talk to the computer but without any luck. I'm in Australia too but it should have nothing to do with it.
if it doesn't work on my lappy, I'm returning it for a refund. No good keeping something that doesn't work.
