Why is the main 24 volt coil contactor chattering? I replaced the 3-pole contactor and thermostat but problem not solved.

chech the voltage going to the contactor if it is less then 21 volts i would change the transformer. sometimes the contactor will chatter because it is not getting enough voltage.

I need to know the power requirements for this

It is single phase. Either 208 volts 3240 watts or 240 volts 4316 watts. Unfortunately, its difficult to know which one you have. It can be ordered either way. Here's the deal, For no apparent reason, some buildings have 208 volts, some have 240 volts. If you know when you buy new equipment, you specify which voltage you have. So if your building has 208 volts and the machine is 240, it will still work, maybe a little slower to heat up. If it is the other way around, your building has 240 volts and the machine has 208 elements, it will heat up much faster, but the life of the elements is drastacally reduced becuse they burn out much quicker. You can call Lang at 314 781 2777 ask for technical assistance and they may have a way to find the voltage if the tag is missing.

I have purchased old, (3)stacked, electric stone

First off, you will need to have each oven on a dedicated 3phase circuit.Make sure your breaker box can handle an additional 360 amps before you wire anything. You may not be able to use all 3 at once, if the main breaker can't carry the load.

Oven wont heat

Hello, It could be that the EOC is bad but have you checked both sides of the breaker? as you may already know the 220v is on 2 breakers, although you may see the clock still working you still have 120v to the control side, the 120v breaker for the heater side of the cuircuit could have popped...If after checking the breaker you have a full 220 then I would have to say it's going to be a problem with your EOC or high limit if this model has one. I have an electric Lang

Hi

You must check the main power wires where they enter the range at the T-block, sometimes they can burn off. Also check house fuses (or breaker) that supplies power to the range. Checking with a volt meter, you should get 240 volts between the black and red main power wires. The range receptacle and power cord can also burn and fail. Also check the screw in fuses, they are usually the 30 amp fuses for the oven. Next is the clock assembly, often these clocks will have the words "push for manual" or "turn for manual", this will put the clock back into the normal operating mode rather than the automatic mode. If all checks ok, you will have to test the selector switch and oven control.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Check out this web site for your manual. The model EHS-APM is not listed but there are other units with multiple programming options. You will have to browse somewhat but what you are looking for is probably there.
Good Luck and hope this helps.

Electric Oven Problems

If it is a fan assisted oven, and the fan is working, then you need to fit a new oven element.

Can a lang griddle wired for 3 phase by rewired to run 1 phase?

Yes, there is a chart on page 6 of the service manual that tells you which wires to switch(according to your model#) to change to single phase.

Lang Platinum series convection oven

I believe the fan is supposed to rotate one way, then stop and spin the other way, ie. clockwise, then counter clockwise. Did the service guys check this? what service company did you use? You probably already know this but make sure the sides of the pan are NOT touching any of the sides of the oven. I work for a service company myself and I have to say if I got this call and neither of those two things solved it, I would be stumped!

Lang Oven EHS-PP

WB, Your thermostat is shot and must be replaced. The most difficult part of this job is locating one to replace it with. Have the complete Model and Serial number handy... First, try locally. Call a local Commercial Kitchen repair/parts house. Surely theres one nearby, they work on all McDonalds, Wendy's, Restaraunts, etc... cooking equipment. Second, contact the manufacturer; Star Manufacturing International, Inc. 10 Sunnen Drive St. Louis, MO 63143-3800 Phone (314) 781-2777 (800) 264-7827 Fax (800) 264-6666 After you have it, SHUT OFF THE POWER AT THE BREAKER!!! Now try to turn the unit on to VERIFY you have no power. Then remove the t'stat knob. Now remove the screws holding the control panel in place. Tilt the control panel out toward you. Now you can see the t'stat and see how the sensor bulb is routed. (HINT: Take a piece of paper and draw the back side of the t'stat's wire connection locations and wire colors/numbers, BEFORE removing anything.) Remove the wires and the t'stat and route/wire the new one the same way. Another tip; Be extremely careful with the sensor bulbs capillary tube (the small tube connecting the bulb to the t'stat). NO 90 DEGREE BENDS ALLOWED! It is a hollow tube, if it's piched/kinked you can throw it in the trash and buy yourself a new one. (It came packaged as a coil for a reason) As you uncoil it, go slow and easy.
