Communication Error between upper and lower board generally produced by a physical disconnection between harness and the the apparatus. Reseat the harness.

that is a loss of speed error. you only get rid of it when the belt starts moving again

the speed sensor is in the front drive wheel. it is a sensor located on the left-hand side you will see a wire going to the sensor. then a magnet is on the wheel and when it passes by you get your speed.

is this a home model and did you buy originally? the reason I ask is that Landice home L8 models have a lifetime parts warranty. contact Landice and they will be able to assist you over the phone for free. you either need a new keyboard panel(bad buttons), or a new lower computer board. both easy fixes on a Landice

It could be the bearings or it could be the brushes are worn out and need to be replaced. normally it would be the front roller that needs to oiled or replaced. I suggest having a fitness equipment repairman come out and see and hear the unit. it cost very little and is worth the investment

What do you think--what changes when something happens???

I've definitely never seen "P4" on a Landice before so I'm not entirely sure on that one. The other issues seem like they might be associated with stuck keys on the console. It's a very common problem if you have it in a humid area and/or it gets sweat on it during the work out. Being that it's a Landice, you should have a part warranty on it. Have you contacted them?

Your L7 error looks like L5 , but its really LS which mean lost signal. Unplug unit take motor shroud off then plug unit back in wall outlet. When looking in front unit you will see a Motor control board and there are LED lit up one of them should be an amber light this is you speed sensor which is attached to the top of your motor. Manually rotate the fly wheel and see if that light flickers if it does then your speed sensor is working properly if not replace speed sensor. The next thing to look at is the motor brushes to if they are worn unplug unit you should see slitted caps on both side of motor remove them if they are less than 3/8" they need replacing. That for the most parts should take of your problem. Call Landice @ 1800-526-3423 have the serial# handy their on all the components in the unit
