It should be a simple diag, as that fault indicates a short circuit between two specific wires, which just needs to be found. Dealer shall try to find it which wires in the areal of the trouble code. "RF/Passenger Side Deployment Loop Resistance Low"

Are you talking about the orange lamp to the right of the brake light in the upper left of the cluster? If so, that is the Malfunction indicator light (Check Engine light for those in the States) or at least it is on mine. Have someone scan it to retrieve and clear the error codes. Google the retrieved codes and you'll find a myriad of hits containing troubleshooting advice. Or post them here and we'll try to get you pointed in the right direction.

Follow the linkage from the throttle plate body back to the cruise control unit. This linkage will lead back to the cruise control unit on the 98 Land Rover Discovery! Smiles!

Having never smelled a skunk... bad smells in the heating/ventilation/air conditioning system are usually biological. You may have mould growing in there or maybe a small creature crawled in and died. Seriously! There are aerosol cans of air conditioning cleaner you can buy for the mould. If that doesn't solve it, first check the air intakes, there will be things like pollen or dust filters that need to be replaced. Lastly you may have to take apart the dash to inspect the ducts.

Check the fluid.Is the engine light on??? Yes? Diagnose....No.......... it's broke

Ensure that the steering lock is disengaged by moving the wheel back and forth while trying to turn the key. Next puff a bit of powered graphite in the key slot to free up any stuck tumbler pins ( care here as graphite powder is dirty and will require a wet rag to remove the black stains). Next try another key to see if the key is not too badly worn to move the pins.

There is a plate somewhere on the block of your engine that has the serial number, as well as other information. The tag may be covered with grease, but a putty knife or sire brush will help you find it. It is usually in the most inconvenient place to see it.

do you have a second key to try yours might be worn out. do the teeth on the key still look "sharp" or are they worn and rounded.

check the coolant level. and oil level.

run fault codes and look for faulty reverse sensor / servo. have a pressure test done on the gear box to eliminate any internal damage / adjustments.

check the battery, if it is ok, you need to check the starter and ignotionOBD2 tools

On the coolant tank,you will have to buy the tank,they don't sell just caps and the tanks are expensive.You will have to go through the dealer to get the oem part.I will do some searching and see what I come up with.
