Sensor doesn't work

Mine stopped working about 2 weeks ago (May 2018) after about 8 years of service. I had tried the recommended procedure to depress the reset button on the sensor, but it still would not reset / reboot the temperature sensor. I suspect the non removable batteries to be the issue failure so I am about to crack the case open to try to troubleshoot the issue for confirmation.

How do I change to daylight saving time?

Once the battery is installed the clock will begin searching for a signal. For the initial setting it is recommended to stand the clock in an upright position near a window. Within five minutes the clock will either receive the WWVB signal and set itself to the exact time, or it will determine that the signal is not receivable at its current location and time of day. If a signal is not receivable it will fast-forward the hands to the 4, 8, or 12 o'clock position and search for WWVB each even numbered hour until a signal is received. If the time is manually set the clock will continue to periodically search for a signal and automatically reset the hands when the signal is received. What I would do, take the clock outside, it might not be getting a signal inside your house. http://www.manualslib.com/manual/91008/La-Crosse-Technology-Wt-3181pl.html

TX58UN-IT transmit icon is on, does not measure rain.

I had this problem and after 7 days I've heard nothing back from LaCrosse. Problem appears to be a non-functioning magnetic reed switch inside the circuitry housing. It's easy to remove the cover with a tiny phillips screwdriver (mind the small and delicate gasket/o-ring). Then the circuit board is held in with two more tiny philips screws at the bottom of the housing. Removing and replacing the switch will require a low-wattage soldering pencil. I used a Standex-Meder part number ORD228VL-1015 from Digi-Key. Only a couple $, cheap, fast shipping. It appears to be an EXACT replacement.

Nothing is showing on the screen of the clock after replacement of batteries and following other directions. Is unit broken and in need of replacemnt?

Double check that the cell is in the proper way. Sometimes it is put in upside down. (we've all done this). Secondly there may be a + mark next to a contact, on some models it is necessary to short out the mechanism to the cell to activate the watch. You can use a couple of straight pins, place one on the + contact on the movement and the other to the top of the battery that is facing up and touch the 2 needles together. Like I said on some models that is done to start the watch. It may even instruct you to do so on the back cover. good luck hope this helps. gabe.

Rain gauge not working

Replace the glass reed switch on the circuit board as it is bad. You must be very careful to orient the replacement switch so that it closes only when the rocker arm is at the vertical position. This will take some work to get right. Use a volt ohm meter and set the Plus lead at the reed switch lead at the top of the board. The meter should show a closed circuit only when the rocker is at the top. Good luck.

My outside temperature and humidity sensor appears

The WS-7395U uses the La Crosse TX8U outdoor temperature and humidity sensor. That part has a $49.99 MSRP. It is $46.95 from La Crosse; see http://www.lacrossetechnology.com/tx8/index.php to order the part. Other vendors that I checked do not have the sensor in stock for sale separately. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

Will one of the newer sensors work in place of my 1457 sensor?

It's possible that one of the newer sensors could work in place of your 1457 sensor, but it depends on the specifications of the newer sensors and the compatibility with your base unit. The I MAX1457 sensor, which is a highly integrated analog-sensor signal processor optimized for piezoresistive sensor calibration and compensation. However, I have no information about its compatibility. If you're looking for a replacement sensor, I suggest contacting the manufacturer of your base unit to inquire about compatible sensors. Alternatively, you can check the user manual of your base unit to see if it lists compatible sensors. Garage door opener sensors are not universal. Safety sensors can only communicate with garage door openers from the same brand.
