Kyocera finecam 410 "cover open"

i had a camera that did the same thing. on mine there was a little tab on the memory card cover door thing that pushed a little button. i think a piece of the little tab on mine broke off so it wasnt pushing the button so i took a little piece of paper or something and folded it really small and set it on top of the little button thing and then closed the door and that worked for me

UNSUPPORTED FORMAT

Since this camera is fifteen years old, and is long discontinued, it is unlikely that spares will be available for it. The camera shop gave you the most cost effective advice.

Where to buy a new CCD for Kyocera SL400R? What is the part number of this blessed CCD ?

You could try Kyocera, but I don't think they still have 10 year old CCD's in stock. And if they have, it could be more expensive then a brand new DSLR. And even if you have a CCD, who will replace it and what reassurance do you have nothing else is defect in the camera. After 10 years perhaps you should try to accept the camera is beyond repair and new camera's now perform better and faster, for less money.

Battery depletes after 60 seconds

I'm afraid that the battery you bought as new, in fact is a battery that was in the shop for years, and can't hold enough power. If you camera works normal for one minute and does not run hot or even gets warm, I think the battery is not as good as you think. Can't find since when the camera is around, but my guess is the camera is not that new anymore. Please recharge the battery and use it, and than recharge it again It could take a few charge cycles, before the battery gets its full capacity, but don't expect wonders.

Why is my camera stating write protect?

Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Welcome to Fixya

Try replacing the USB cord. Try to insert the camera to a different USB port. Try to plugin the camera to a different computer and see if you will be getting the same thing.
