Will all kwikset keys unlock all kwikset locks?
I've heard of this problem happening. Whenever the key is changed, check it several times before locking the door. If you have keys duplicated, the duplicates must be very accurate or they might not work reliably. Difficult to know what causes this, unless someone is tampering with the lock, or resetting it improperly. Or could be defective cylinders - which would be disappointing. Pin-tumbler cylinders do not have this problem, it's something unique to Kwikset
Smartkey.

My exterior door lock (Kwikset)
Get a big scredriver and put it in the square in the middle of the mechanism and turn it till it opens, or you will just have to pry it out with the scredriver.
Moisture
A short burst of WD-40 or Triflow into the keyway, then insert and remove your key a few time. After that, insert the key and turn back and forth, it should smooth right out.
I want to remove the old cod
This model lock will hold 2 codes, so apparently all you've dons so far is add a second code. Try reprogramming it again, using your newer code again so it will overwrite the older one. In other words, you will have two codes entered, both will be the same.If this doesn't work for you, contact Kwikset Customer Service from this link:http://www.kwikset.com/Customer-Support/Contact-Us.aspx
