plug it in and check under device manager if it is listed, it may show up with an error as unknown usb device, if so un-install the drivers reboot and plug it in again, if same error check with different lead. if still same errors download drivers and reinstall. if non of that works you may have a faulty conection socket.

Hi, try going into settings > Applications > (scroll right to all) > Camera > Clear Data. This won't delete any of your photos but rather your camera settings.
