The valve in the lid is faulty, it will eventually fail completely. The correct lid can be ordered from your local Krups service agent. Be prepared for disappointment though as many of them are now obsolete. You will need to give the agent the model number, it's normally on a sticker on under the base.

A common place for a leak under the machine is the barista seal that goes in the bottom of the boiler around that eject rod. Barista seal part number is MS5002202, Seals on the tamping piston are MS5002040 (there can be 1 or 2 of these piston seals) If fixing the leaks does not fix error 6 then I expect it will end up being the distributor. Did you completely finish the descale process. On the models I'm familiar with you run thru the descale doing every step it requests then refill the tank and run thru the rinsing process until it ends completely. As far as I know there is no reset for errors, the problem needs to be located and fixed. I have no idea what the unplug icon may be indicating.

if there is a open circuit the lever will not stay down. hold the lever down check if the elements glow , most times it costs more to fix then a new one.

Remove the covers, locate the leak and fix it.

Contact an Authorised Service Centre, they are not simple machines.

Replace the valve on the distributor or if necessary the whole distributor. While you are at it replace the tamping piston seals and the barista seal.

That info is not supplied via the normal service centre channels. Take it to an Authorised Service Centre and if they have not seen it before they will contact Groupe SEB to find out what needs doing.
