Yeh, it's a very cheap Grinder to replace (£30) but when you can buy a pair of burr plates at £8 which includes p&p, it's worth the 40 minute fix, even if for curiosity and satisfaction!

You can only get that wheel as part of the grinder, it is not possible to remove the burr to replace the plastic part. It's factory fit during manufacture. There are 2 reasons I'm aware of to cause that, rarely it can be a stone in the beans but more likely you have an internal leak causing the grounds to bind up together from the steamy environment within the housings. Also if the relief valve in the distributor is sticking it can cause the chamber to stay very wet.

my dear sir it looks that you had some internal leaking .due to this the water went on to the electric parts . now you need to fest dry it properly then plug it in again and make sure it doesn't leak again if not check there is two thermal fuse on the ac supply sow make sure you unplug first see that you do the same as type if this get blown again then you have to change the pcb

ChoccyBar, THANK YOU. You're answer was so helpful. I have the XP7230 and all of the sudden had exact same problem, machine wouldn't not register a full tank. After reading this I checked the floating piece and saw that it was not floating with a full tank like it is supposed to. Had to obstruct it to keep it afloat as well, and voila, it worked. Ahh... what a relief to have my machine working again. Coffee has never tasted so good.
