Hello!
I got a hdd recorder and it's freezin' all the time. I think the hdd went wrong, but what if not.?
My experience with these is fairly limited. I find they have to be happy in all respects before they will work at all. When we had our digital switchover the signal strength quadrupled and many top boxes just stopped working while others kept freezing or pixelating. It wasn't until suitable attenuators had been fitted they settled down and began to work.
Lots of people who bought hdd recorders found them unsatisfactory and I know one guy who tried four before he found one that worked for him.
My first hdd recorder had a very short life so I upgraded and got an even worse one so I complained to the manufacturer. After several emails it seemed my new purchase had the oldest software version available. Since the software has been updated it has been quite acceptable.
You didn't say whether the trouble was with playback or tv viewing but I speculate there isn't much wrong if the device boots ok. The software will be stored behind a partition on the hdd. I suggest you check your signal strength and then try updating the software before resorting to sending the unit back for service.

Korg x5d some keys not sounding
The contacts are probably dirty or bent. The keyboard is relatively easy to remove if you have any experience.
