How to stop sink leak

Check whether the faucet is leaking or the drainage is leaking. If the faucet is leaking, you need tools to loosen the faucet to check whether the hoses are leaking or not. If the drainage is leaking, you can tighten the slip nut.

My Kohler cistern (Kohler Code 1764A-0) overflows

Cut the water off (just to keep from wasting water), remove the float and see if water has leaked into the float so that it became too heavy to rise with the water and turn the water off. Everything else works because you can lift the float and shut off the water. The valve could be sticking in which case, replace or remove and lube with a bit plumber's silicon.

I changed out my Kohler shower diverter cartridge

did your old diverter have a shut off knob on it? if so you may have not noticed it leaking, -what causes that is the existing shower faucet may have been mounted to high from the spout below -or the pipe going down from existing fixture to the tub faucet spout pipe may not be at least 3/4", -if its 1/2" it will always do that

I have a kohler one

Try cleaning the surface of the drain hole where the flapper fits. There might be crud causing it to not seal. Sometimes the flapper itself is not large enough (or too large) to properly fit the hole. If no good you might try weighting the flapper. Not easy to do. You'll have to pull the flapper, dry it completely find the right adhesive place the weight just right. And hope that works. Good Luck...

Does your unit have a low oil kill sensor if it does the unit won't start if the oil is low also if the sensor is bad that will kill the power. I do know if this may be your problem but check the oil level. good luck.
