Hi my Kodak EasyShare CD14 Digital Camera is not switching on. I replaced the battery, but there is not any effect on camera. It is not showing anything, and not switching on. How can I switch it on?

Question edited for clarity and written English. Question moved to model category. You are the only person to report this problem. It has failed electronically. The only thing you can check is that the battery contacts are clean and shiny. If they have had a depleted battery in there for a long time, they may have corrosion. If that checks out okay, you need to take the camera to a Kodak service centre or a good camera shop for repair. https://www.google.com/search?q=Kodak+EasyShare+CD14+Digital+Camera+is+not+switching+on ..

Error E45 See user guide Kodak Easy Share LS443

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

Regards
Andrea

Why does camera close down when I plug USB cable to pc have replaced cable & batteries

As soon as you connect a camera to a computer, the camera shuts down, because it only can act as a "dumb" memory stick. Only more advanced camera's and special programs allow the camera to be connected and be monitored on a computer. Nikon has Camera Control Pro 2 for its DSLRs. Only the software is over 100 dollars. When you have installed Kodak Picture easy software, you can connect the camera to the computer and then after you switch on the camera, you can download the pictures from the camera to the PC.

MOV format

The MOV format is an industry-standard format used by many digital still-picture manufacturers. As with the JPEG format used for still images (the primary purpose of EasyShare cameras), the MOV format provides a video capture file that can be used on most computer operating systems and platforms. Kodak EasyShare digital cameras include the free Apple QuickTime player software. If you are interested in more sophisticated editing capabilities, many MOV editors are available from several companies: QuickTime Pro from Apple Computer Inc. is the initial upgrade package to the free QuickTime player software. Search the Internet using the phrase "QuickTime editing" to find many other sources of QuickTime editing software with a wide range of capabilities.

Photo size too large for email

You can do that in 2 ways.

1) Shoot the photo or video in reduced size (less quality). This can achieved by adjusting the settings in your camera.

2) Use 3rd party software like photoshop or Microsoft paint to manually reduce the size using it.

Hi, my Kodak EasyShare Z740 turns off after taking one picture, or even just by focusing.

That sounds like your batteries are worn out because they are rechargeable. The trickle charger doesn't have enough milli-amps to run the camera only to charge the battery. https://www.google.com/search?q=kodak+easyshare+z740+battery+replacement ..

Flash does not open when I slide the "open flash" switch.

Try gently lifting the flash with the flash latch held open. It may have grit stopping it or a broken spring. Also make sure the latch is pulling right across to the right.
