Have you tried this card in any other device?

I have a Z981 myself. I just set my camera as you did (to "A") but did not experience the issue you mention? Just to be clear, remember that setting the camera to "A" means "Aperture priority", meaning that you can control the lens aperture (with the "jog dial" on the top of the camera) and the camera will automatically set the shutter speed to create a proper exposure. "A" does NOT mean automatic exposure control. You must use "P" (Programmed) mode to make the camera make all the decisions about shutter speed and lens aperture. I am including a web link to the User Guide for the Z981. You might want to revisit the Guide to make sure you are using the correct settings for your pictures. I do not know your camera but if there is a backup battery it may be the problem. Its a battery that looks like a watch battery only bigger.

Try a hard reset of camera electronics to factory defaults. If that does not do it, them maybe it is time to go shopping since repair is not cost effective.

Your usb card reader is now bogus.

The camera uses either SD or MMC cards, it is likely you bent or broke one or more of the connector pins in the camera..Bent pins usually break if you try to straighten them. Repair costs will probably cost as much as a replacement new camera. On eBay you can buy a C330 for $10- $40.

Go to Kodak site and find out the significance of the blinks and you will be guided accordingly.

If other memory cards take the format then your card is fubar.

Format card in your computer first, using FAT 32 then try again in camera
