Be aware you need a working tablet to update. the program must be in working order and the processor must run. Once you start the upgrade, there is only a small routine running, to put the new program in the right place in the Flash memory. You don't get a second chance, if anything goes wrong, because even the routine to update can't be put in place or run.
An update is NEVER a solution for a bricked tablet.
Please check some forums what to do with your problem, but please don't brick the device with an update you can't get in place.
Why won't my Netbook turn on?
A netbook brand new? Let me guess, an Acer One Aspire? There is no detail about the devicein question here.
If it's brand new, just return it, warranty. If it's an Acer One, you probably need a patch for the BIOS which by the way, is kin dof hard to get. Search for BIOS patch for XXXX (netbook model)
When I try doing a hard reset. I can not get it to boot beyond the green Android guy. It shuts off or will not get me to the choice menu. Any suggestions?
On an android tablet of mine I have to hold the power and the volume (-) button down at the same time and keep holding them for about fifteen to twenty seconds until finally a menu with green text comes up. To select the text option I want, I have to scroll with the volume (+) button and when I'm on the right option I have to activate it using one short push of the power button.
The option I choose to do a hard reset is *wipe data/factory reset*. On my tablet, when I choose and activate this option it takes me to another screen with about six lines of *no no no* text and one line of the reset option. I have to scroll to the reset option using the volume(+) option and again use a short push of the power button to activate it. Then, it does it's thing and turns off. I then give it about ten seconds and then I hold the power button down for five or so seconds and it then it reboots to factory fresh condition. It takes a couple of minutes to get it done I guess because it's reloading all the apps, etc.

It won't unlock i can't open the tablet
If you set a pass code (or pattern) that you cannot remember, please enter the wrong password (10-20 times) until you are prompted to sign in via your google account. Please note, this will only work if you have already setup your google account on the tablet. If you have not set up a Google (or Gmail) account on the tablet, you will have to perform a firmware install, which will revert the tablet back to factory settings.

Frozen screen
The app has crashed.
Try performing a power reset. There should a power reset button near the charging port.
It looks like a tiny hole. While plugged into the charger, use a paperclip to push the button
inside this hole for 3-5 seconds. If it turns on, please allow it to charge for 4-6 hours
before using it. If you leave it on the charger for longer than the allocated time, you will go
back to having the same problem as before.
