Wrap a wire around the outside Metal of your rca jack in back of your radio and ground the other end of that wire to the back of your radio and the noise goes away

Go back into the set up and factory set it then go back through the end user set up again. Sony bipass code is 7774 for parental control Not sure where that 1s made. That dont work track down the customer service number for the manufacture

I would fit the same type, unless the schematic shows a change, which clearly it doesn't. However I would be surprised if R42 burnt up alone! Look at the schematic, is R42 linked to any other transistor or part? If so check them if you can.
By the way is R42 a fuseable resistor, for example is the symbol on the schematic or on PC board different to most other resistors?

Yes, the 10-120 can use a L & R low level subwoofer input. You can get a short 6" RCA splitter adapter from Radio Shack for a under $10. (1 female input, 2 male outputs) Alternately, just plug the subwoofer output on your receiver to just the low level R channel on the KLH sub.

This model has a high failure rate with the power supply board. Typically, power resistors fail, which in turn burns out the big capacitors.

I have not heard of transformers failing though, so it shouldn't be too much to repair it.

make sure you have the speaker connection right if you do then it is a ground problem try plugging it in a different outlet

Most likely the amp in the sub has blown. It will need repair or replacement. I'd take it to an expert in repairing amps, it's not a job for you unless you're experienced in troubleshooting these things.

The SR-2000 has fuses for both left and right outputs. Make sure neither are blown. Otherwise this receiver has a STK 463 integrated chip that controls the output for both channels. When replacing the STK-463 it is also acceptable to use STK-465.
