To adjust the K-5A, there is no little screw under the motor head. However, you can easily adjust it by tightening the 7/16 bolt that is accessible under the mixer base. Simply lay over the mixer (after unplugging it), use a 7/16 long head socket and extension, and tighten a 1/4 turn at a time to raise the bowl. FYI, we've had this mixer for 20 years and I've never done it before. Mine took 6 separate 1/4 turns (totaling 1 1/2) turns to move the dime slightly on each rotation. Works great now!
Hiya,
I am sorry to hear you are having problems with your machine.
It could be that your motor brushes have worn down too much or are not in the correct way. I have added a help link below which will show you how to remove and replace your motor brushes:

Yes and isn't that the dumbest design for something like that. 3 screws when older models had 4 and no locating pegs where older models had 2. Great progress Kitchen Aid.
Make sure that the carbon brushes are free moving in the holders under the black caps, one on each side. Note that the brushes are "keyed" so that they will only fit and work one way. There is a blocker at the bottom of the brush holder that is to be lined up with the corner of the carbon brush that's been shaved off. Use a torch and remember to unplug the power before you start. Next thing to look at are the wires and switch contacts underneath the back cover.
Hiya,
I am sorry to hear you are having problems with your mixer. To stop the oil leaking from the front of the mixer, you just need to remove the drip ring and give it a good clean underneath and this should stop the oil from leaking out. Below I have added a link and if you watch on the timing "1.28" you will see how to remove the drip ring.

Hiya,
Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your mixer!
I would start by checking your motor brushes, as this is really easy to check. They may have been placed in the wrong way or worn down too much.

Hiya,
I am sorry to hear you are having problems with your beater not turning.
The problem may be that you have damaged the Worm Gear inside your mixer. I have added a link below for a help video on replacing your worm gear:

The speed control lever is either bent or the screw it pivots on has come loose. The only way to solve the problem properly is to take off the back cover, remove the white and the black wires from the speed control plate, remove it from the pedestal (1 screw up inside the pedestal to remove hinge pin), take the chrome drip ring off, remove the planetary and remove the 9 screws holding the 2 case halves together. That will allow you access to the lever and you will be able to tighten the screw or remove and bend the lever to give it more tension on the bumps in the housing that hold it in off or speed positions. This list is pretty much in order of how you do it.
It will be to do with the hinge pin, the head lock or the head height adjustment. Make sure that the hing pin is held tight in place with the grub screw in the middle accessed only when the mixer & stand are upside down. Then make sure that the head height is correctly set with the adjustment accessed from the front when the head is raised. You can see the adjustment screw in the middle of the hinge when you have raised the head. In to lower the head and out to raise the head. The flat paddle needs to just stop tinging on the bowl when the motor is operating and the head is down.
