Our microwave does not consistently come on. When we put in the time to cook it tells us to open/close door. If the cavity light comes on then it works, if not it doesn't work. Please HELP! Thank you

Sounds like you have one or more faulty micro-switches for the door. They are not expensive to get, but your service center will likely charge you a lot to fix it. If you are handy, you can pull the case off and replace them yourself.

How do I fix a door code issue on a kitchenaid microwave

It may be what I call the "overdesigned door circuit," as shown in the attached drawing. 26295883-mnkk0qh3fucisz4rwgpfglig-5-0.jpg 26295883-mnkk0qh3fucisz4rwgpfglig-5-1.jpg If you'd like more help with this, I'd need your full model number and FCC ID number form the tag in the cooking cavity or elsewhere on the oven. Feel free to contact me via microwavecontrol.com with your detailed symptoms.

36" KitchenAid microwave has been beeping for no reason. It's like someone is going to use it and it changes the display. Happened in the middle of the night. I cleared it, but it keeps happening

Erratic behavior sometimes occurs when microwaves are not plugged into grounded outlets. Make sure it is actually grounded. If so, you might have a defective control panel. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/david_29ad5d1dd86564b0

Micro not heating.

The magnetron is supposed to read nearly zero ohms across the two terminals. You are measuring the resistance of the filiament/heater/cathode of the tube. Activity in the magnetron occurs when the heated electrons are emitted from the cathode, pass through the magnetic field, swirl about, bounce in and out of indentations (vanes) in the tube, and finally land on the plate (antenna). The resistance from the cathode to the plate should be infinite. If not, you probably have a bad tube. Or, if there is continuity between the heater and the case, then you have a shorted tube.

What eventually happens to most vacuum tubes is that the cathode (filiament in this case) becomes coated with a material which inhibits the launching of electrons into the tube. When the flow becomes too low, oscillation ceases, and you have no microwave output. Sometimes they reach the threshold, but do no cross over quickly. Then you have a magnetron that is intermittent for a while. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/david_29ad5d1dd86564b0

Kitchen aid microwave Kcms185j is arcing on the inside ceiling when popping popcorn, but normal when frying bacon?

It may be the oil in the popcorn---do you own one of the covers that go inside to cover so food does not splatter?

KitchenAid KCMC155J 1000 Watts Convection / Microwave Oven - how to change the light bulbs - can this be done without having to call a tech?

The service number for this microwave is 1-800-422-1230. I have seen this question posted on several sites with no answers. Also, I checked the Owner's Manual and I do not see an answer to this question. If I had to guess, I would say that if there is no access from the inside of the microwave, you may have to remove it from the wall as the access might be on the back of the unit.

How do i replace door handle

The door handle can easily be replaced on MOST microwave ovens by removing the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to access and replace the door handle:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3696942-microwave_oven_door_handle_replacement

The average cost for a replacement handle usually runs about $20 - $40. Replacements may be purchased at the websites listed in the link I provided.

The part number for the model number you provided varies depending on color, so make sure you order the correct one for your oven. You can view an exploded view of your microwave door here:

http://pcappliancerepair.com/model-display.php

The door handle is a simple repair that can be done with the door in place, or with the door removed. You do not have to uninstall the oven if this is an over the range model.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you
