Harbinger LP9800 mixer keeps shorting out, what can we do? Its been happening for a few months.

You will need to get a qualified electronics technician to look at it. The issue could be anywhere on the circuit boards inside the mixer. Unless you know what you are doing don't try to repair it yourself as you could make the problem worse.

After mixing bread dough the mixer head will not tilt up to get the dough out of the bowl

Push the head down before pressing the button on the mystery mixer. There is probably dough under the hook with it pressing the head up and is locking the catch. You can pull out the dough around the dough hook to make it easier. All questions need 'make model (what it is)', first 3 words please

Good substitute for "Sunbeam power unit lubricant"?

All question need full 'make model (what it is)' please. Duplicate question deleted. Press Refresh to see your question. The only thing we know it that is made by Sunbeam and it MAY be a food mixer because that is the category it is posted to. Look at what is there already. It is black and greasy, it will be GP Graphite Grease. If it is white and greasy, you can use white Lithium grease in spray or tube. If it looks like normal oil, use 3 in One. This is a service manual for a vintage mixer, it say to use a special grease, but from the description high temperature bearing grease would work. https://studylib.net/doc/25985112/instructions-for-servicing-vintage-sunbeam-mixmasters Nothing based on the the quoted words. https://www.google.com/search?q=Sunbeam+power+unit+lubricant ..

My Kitchen Aid mixer flashed a spark and banged whilst I was using it. The plug fuse has not blown but the mixer does not work.

Could be anything, but could be the switch, the electronics board, motor windings, the carbon brushes or worn insulation somewhere. Odd that the plug fuse didn't blow. It needs electrical diagnosis to find out what went wrong.

Stand cake mixer not working. No power when turn knob think water got inside. You think a fuse is out or something? Can it be fixed?

If your stand cake mixer is not working and you suspect that water may have entered the device, it's possible that a fuse or other electrical component may have been affected. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue:
  1. Unplug the mixer: As a safety precaution, unplug the mixer from the power source before attempting any troubleshooting or repairs.
  2. Let it dry: If water has indeed entered the mixer, allow it to dry thoroughly before attempting to use it again. Place the mixer in a warm and dry environment for a few days to ensure all moisture has evaporated. Do not attempt to use the mixer while it is still wet, as it can be dangerous.
  3. Check for visible damage: Once the mixer is dry, carefully inspect the external components for any visible signs of damage, such as burnt marks or loose wires. Pay close attention to the power cord and the area where it connects to the mixer.
  4. Check the fuse: Some mixers may have a fuse that protects against electrical issues. Refer to the user manual or consult the manufacturer's website to determine if your mixer has a fuse and its location. If the fuse is accessible, check to see if it has blown and replace it if necessary. Use the recommended fuse rating specified by the manufacturer.
  5. Seek professional help: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it's advisable to contact the manufacturer's customer support or consult a qualified appliance technician. They will have the expertise and knowledge to diagnose and repair any internal electrical problems safely.

Blakeslee A717 Commercial Mixer With 7 Quart Bowl. The snap ring on the dough hook doesn't hold.

It is not a make I have heard of before, which is odd, because I spent 50 years in catering and hospitality. Parts are available according to this. Getting to the snap ring would be the issue. You may be able to pull the old one out with a right angle pick and push the new one in. https://www.google.com/search?q=blakeslee+a717+parts ..

I have a John Deere La 130 with a 21hp Briggs and Stratton and I have been turning the gas shutoff solenoid for 20 minutes and it turns but doesn't seem to be coming off!

The gas shutoff solenoid on your John Deere LA 130 is typically located on the bottom of the carburetor bowl, and it should be screwed in to secure it in place. If you have been turning the solenoid for 20 minutes without it coming off, it's possible that it may be stuck or there could be another issue preventing it from loosening. Here are a few things you can try: 1. Apply penetrating oil: Spray some penetrating oil (such as WD-40) around the base of the solenoid where it screws into the carburetor bowl. This can help loosen any debris or corrosion that may be causing it to stick. 2. Use a wrench or pliers: If the solenoid has a hexagonal base, you can try using an appropriately sized wrench to provide additional leverage for turning it. Alternatively, you can use pliers to grip the solenoid tightly and turn it counterclockwise. 3. Seek professional help: If the solenoid still doesn't come off after attempting the above steps, it might be best to consult a professional technician or take your mower to an authorized John Deere service center. They will have the necessary expertise and tools to diagnose and resolve the issue safely. Remember to exercise caution while working on your mower's carburetor and ensure the engine is turned off and cool before attempting any repairs.

Haden Mixer is 3 years old, motor is working, at different speeds, but is not turning attachments. Any suggestions please?

In the drive train there are shear pins that are soft enough to shear if the gears are strained. It happens on bread dough if you run the machine too fast or put a piece of bone into a grinder attachment. Or, sometimes a gear will move. if not correctly shimmed. https://www.google.com/search?q=Haden+Mixer+parts+diagram ..

SMEG Stand Mixer makes loud clanging noise only when there is an attachment on.

The machine needs stripping down as something it likely worn. The gearbox is also packed with grease and may need re-packing. They do need periodic servicing. Does it make the same noise with the bowl removed? Sometimes the noise will be attachments hitting the bowl. There is an adjustment screw underneath to see clearance. https://www.google.com/search?q=SMEG+Stand+Mixer+makes+loud+clanging+noise ..
