Power went out motor goes no volts why
If the fuses are good, your AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) may have failed or (less likely) you may have lost the residual magnetic field in your armature. With the generator off and your circuit breakers closed, plug in a corded 120V drill into one of the household 120V outlets on the generator. Spin the drill's chuck quickly, by hand, several times; This introduces a small electric current to your armature, "field flashing" the generator. Start the generator and check if the generator is now producing voltage. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. If no voltage, then it's likely your AVR has failed. You can purchase these online at ebay for about $35.00-$50.00. Buy a couple of them; these AVRs have a high rate of failure.
Why unit keeps shutting down after it starts.
Your question is general without specific details. Any one of many things will cause your generator engine to stop running.
Is this question about a Kipor KDE5000TA? If so, your generator is powered by a diesel engine. There are safety shut downs built into the generator to protect the generator head and engine. Do you have any fault codes showing on your control panel display screen? (Trouble codes P-01 through P-05 will be displayed if there's a detected fault)
If you have no fault codes, then you likely have a fuel problem. Do the obvious:
- Visually check the fuel level in your tank. DO NOT rely on your fuel gauge. It may be stuck or otherwise not working.
- If you have fuel, check your fuel filter. It may be clogged. If your fuel filter is good, you may have water contamination.
- Drain your tank and refill with fresh #2 diesel fuel. I use "Diesel 911" with a biocide to prevent water contamination and bacteria growth in my fuel.
- Make certain your fuel oil supply and return lines are clear, not leaking, and the fittings are tight.
I know I'm shotgunning, peppering the target. However, I don't have enough information to zero in on a specific area where the problem could be. Good luck!
Kipor IG3000 generator stepper motor bad?
I just experience the same issue. Mine was a broke wire at step motor. Now to find parts as I hv soldered the wire and works great... I'm sure the others will fail soon enough
How do I fix overtemp error on my kipor generator
Not knowing exactly which model you are running, I would check the usual areas: -
- Check the coolant level in the radiator and expansion tank. Don't just add water, mix the correct ratio of water to coolant for your climate.
- Check the oil levels as the oil also plays a part in cooling an engine.
- Check that nothing is obstructing the radiator grille.
- Check there is good ventilation space around the gennie - that is, its not stuck in a corner or up against a wall..
- Check the hoses are not blocked - when you remove them to check them, top up the fluid levels again after you reconnect them.
Hope this gives you something to work on.
I took de oil filter out i connected direct tube i start de it didnt start
Check de-compression lever. Motor will not start if de-compression lever is operated. The lever stops the valves from closing. If lever is operated then there will be no compression when motor is pulled over with starter cord or electric starter operated.Check fuel cut off at injector pump is not operated. This is how motor is normally stopped. There must be no air in the fuel line, fuel filter, injector jump or injector. Undo the fuel line at the injector and pull starter or operate electric starter. Fuel should spit out. If not, crank some more until fuel comes through.if there is fuel in the tank, filter not blocked and injector pump working then if not fuel at injector then maybe injector pump faulty. If fuel at injector line then remove injector, crank motor and look for spray of fuel. If if you have checked for spray of fuel and motor compression then motor should start.
