Hi i have purchesed 16 Kingston pen drive

You will be provided with a free software Kingston secure traveller. In that, you can divide the pendrive into two partitions. One will be public and the other will be password protected.
You can get the software from the link given below.

I have photos files etc in my pen drive of

Insert the pen drive into USB port, then open My Computer. You will see some drives. Hard disk drives, CD Room drives, and removable media drives. Example: Your hard disk (drive C, D, E), CD Room (drive F), Removable media (drive G). So, each time you insert a tool such as pen drives, memory cards, etc, you can see it on drive G.

To view the data pen drive, double click My Computer, click the drive G. If you want to move files from pen drive to your hard disk, open the drive G, block all files, copy and paste to drive C / D / E.

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

What do I do if

Hi meredee_swit,

Files on a flash drive can be corrupted, if it is not removed from the USB port properly.

I advise you before removing the flash drive, CLICK on the Safely Remove Hardware icon and then, click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flash drive, when the computer message says "it is Safe to remove".

1. To restore the flash drive to working order you need to format the flash drive, but you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.

If you need the data on the flash drive these Websites may help Data and Digital Photo Recovery.

Take no more pics until you've recovered your photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that may help you recover your photos. This article reviews and outlines several of the better ones. Recommend that you try MiniTools listed on the site first.

I wantto format my card

You will find a yellow(or white depending on the version) slider bar on the card, this is the physical lock mechanism to prevent you from accidentally wiping your card. Move this to the off position and re-insert it into your computer. You should then be able to wipe the card.

I forgot the pass word

Hi,

This is NOT a good news. You have 25 times to enter the password. If you have incorrectly entered 25 incorrect passwords, all the date would be erased and it would give you an option for a new password. If you don't remember the password by even looking at the hint, the only option would be to send the drive to Kingston to see, if they would save the data unless there is no way to save your date. I am sorry to be a bearer of bad news, however i am better be honest to you rather than giving run around solutions.

I wish i could have a better solution.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

I forgot pen drive password,

Hello.

Unfortunately, with any pen drive, memory card, flash drive, etc. that is password-protected, there is not a way to obtain a password to access the data. That is how it is designed and how a user would want their data protected.

The only way to use the drive is to format it, which would wipe all the data and start fresh. To format:

Determine which drive is the Kingston pen drive. On some systems, it may be identified as a Kingston Drive; on others, it may simply carry a drive-letter designation. Keep in mind that your primary hard drive is the "C" drive and your CD or DVD drive is most often the "D.

Right-click on the drive letter of your pen drive. Choose "Format" from the list of options.

From the "Format" screen, choose the options you want for your pen drive. It is generally best to leave the first three options--Capacity, File System and Allocation Unit Size--as is. If you want, give the volume a new name by entering it in the text box on the screen.

Click the "Start" button at the bottom of the screen. A new window will be displayed when the formatting is complete.

Hope this helps.

How do you put your micro sd card in the computer?

if theres a slot for an sd card on your computer you need a micro sd card adapter. if it doesnt have an sd card slot you need to buy a usb memory card reader (making sure it takes a micro sd card first)

both are widely available in supermarkets/electrical outlets or on ebay/amazon/play etc and are very inexpensive.

Not open my 2GB Micro

Please insert the card on you PC and see if the card is reccognised or the files are opened. If not try with another PC so as to confirm that the memory card is corrupt.
Unless the card opens the memory cannot be formatted. Finally you can see if Kingston service/support can help for a replacement if this is a new piece.
