Drain Pump

might have a hole or crack. Or, the bearings might be worn out. Replace
the drain pump if it is leaking water, they're not repairable.

Tub to Pump Hose
If the washer is leaking water the hose from
the tub to the pump might be split or torn. Don't try to cut off the bad
piece of hose and stretch it to fit the pump, this will put strain on
the remainder of the hose and may cause a sudden and complete failure of
the hose which will dump potentially hundreds or thousands of gallons
of water onto the floor because the next time the washer tries to fill
all of the water will end up on the floor and so the washer will never
shut off the valve. Any time there is a damaged hose, replace it
completely with the OEM part.
Washing Machine Fill Hose
If the washer is leaking water, check the
fill hoses on the back of the washer, this is the most common place for
water to leak. If the washer still has the original black rubber fill
hoses replace them with stainless steel or some other, more durable
hose.
Drain Hose
If the washer is leaking water check the
drain hose. The most common places for the hose to spring a leak is from
the connection to the pump out to the back of the washer. Another
common occurrence is when the washer gets pushed too far back against
the wall.

'then', a moment in time.
'than', a comparison between one thing and another.
It depends on the model, but usually related to the lid lock. Also check the breaker.
Why does my washer stop working after filling with water?
If the Top Load Washer stops after filling with water, be sure to check the house circuit breaker/fuse as well as the outlet and plug. Washers should be plugged into their own separate, dedicated outlet.

Usually it's the lid switch..When you open the lip look straight down usually..When you close the lid it inserts a small plastic piece that goes into the hole telling the washer the lids down..If it broke it will make the washer stop mid cycle..You can stick a wooden (only made of wood) into the hole and sometimes it will start to work..Then you know that's the problem and just get your model number of the washer and replace it..Hope this helps

For some reason, it is failing the self diagnostic tests. You need a service engineer, because the reason is likely the main control board. For that reason you need the correct diagnosis and warranty on the part and the work performed. This is not a simple fix. If the machine is old it may be prudent to just replace it.
You start with under the agitator, then the filter, then the pump, then the hoses at the base of the drum and then everything else.
Then you find nothing and remember you took it out of your pocket and put it in........

If your Kenmore 70 series washing machine is not draining, check the drain hose for clogs or kinks. Ensure the pump is functioning, and inspect the lid switch for any issues. If problems persist, consider consulting the user manual or contacting Kenmore customer support for further assistance.
Troubleshooting: Check the drain hose: Ensure that the drain hose is not clogged or kinked. If it is, straighten it out and remove any blockages.
Inspect the drain pump: Check the drain pump for any debris or foreign objects that may be blocking it. Clean it out if necessary.
Check the lid switch: Ensure that the lid switch is functioning properly. If it is faulty, it may prevent the machine from starting the drain cycle.
Check the waste hose: Ensure that the waste hose is not clogged. A clogged waste hose can prevent water from flowing out of the machine.
If this troubleshooting does not work, you may have to turn to professional assistance from a repairman.
The electric motor turns at a very high rate and as the brushes grip the commutator, they whine. The more weight in the machine, the more noise.
Normal.
Humming is the classic symptom of a Start/Run Capacitor that has failed. It gives the motor a jolt to get it going.
Just a little puzzled why spin works though :>/
