The pedal for my Kenmore 158 12110 gets REALLY hot. Should I try to find another pedal/sewing machine?

Yes you should it's ready to burnout or could catch fire, unless you wall plug in is at fault. Try other items on the same outlet just to be sure. :-)

My kenmore model 158.221.will not stitch ,

You need to explain what is it doing. Stitching need a thread properly coming from reel above and going thru the needle. And a thread coming from bobbin under the foot. If you know how to properly guide the thread let me know what is it doing.

I need a user's manual for a Kenmore sewing machine ,model number 158.14001.Do you know where I can find one?

Sears Parts Direct has many Kenmore appliance manuals. Searching their site, I found the manual for the 158.14001 here: https://www.searspartsdirect.com/manual/15a0itlfo2-000582/kenmore-15814001-mechanical-sewing-machines . The current link to the manual is https://c.searspartsdirect.com/mmh/pd_download/lis_pdf/OWNM/L0910001.pdf . I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

Kenmore 16 stitch sewing machine. Will sew for a couple of stitches then grinds and stops. Clump of thread in bobbin . I cleaned out the hook race and bobbin. Any ideas?

It has happen to me with my machine, either you did not thread your machine right or the bobbin. You need to rethread your machine and make sure that the bobbin is threaded right too. It can be very frustrating!!

Does the kenmore elite sewing machine model # 19005need to be oiled

The Kenmore Elite 385.19005 does not need to be oiled. Like most sewing machines with a touch screen/computerized control, the sewing machine has sealed bearings. The manual is available from SearsPartsDirect: https://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/user-manuals/38519005-kenmore-elite-parts-manual . See page 76 for the routine maintenance required for the machine. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells (The Kenmore Elite 19005 sales brochure convinced me that this is the same as the 385.19005 https://www.manualslib.com/manual/85666/Kenmore-Elite-19005.html . )

1975/76 Kenmore sewing machine will not zig say stitch

There is a zig zag gear in the top of the machine that breaks somertimes and thus prevents the machine from working correctly. Or it could be the machine hasnt been cleaned and lubricated properly. Good Luck

Hello, I have a sears kenmore sewing machine 148.13022 Its up and running good but it keeps breaking my needles. What can I do to fix this problem?

If u have the manual look and see where your tension is, then play with loosening it up until the thread is compatible on both sides.

My Kenmore 158/900 is not looping the bottom stitch from the bobbin thread and the thread sometimes breaks

Can be several causes. In typical probable order for rotary hook machines; 1.Top thread tension is too high (lower tension) 2.Top thread snagging at spool or elsewhere (for hoizontal spool use larger spool cap and/or machine not threaded per specific instructions) 3.Bent needle or barbed needle point (replace needle) 4.Needle not properly inserted into holder (see specific machine instructions) 5.Debris in shuttle hook/race (clean bobbin, hook, race) 6.Wrong bobbin (replace with proper machine bobbin) 7.Bobbin thread tension too high (reduce bobbin spring pressure, likewise top thread tension) 8.Poor quality or extremely light thread (if using cotton only thread, test sew with a polyester blend and see if problem goes away) 9.Bobbin case (replace bobbin case) 10.Machine timing. (check/adjust timing) 11.Burr in hook race, this can happen if a broken needle point jams in the race (remove burr or replace race) 12.Machine timing. (adjust timing) 13.Hook is worn or damaged (typically not a worn hook unless a few hundred hours of use, look for a barbed or bent hook point) Watch following Singer video... see testing top thread tension. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7N4XaIV6ms and following animation on generic rotary hook sewing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqRvljnNLFk
