Use a freezer thermometer and tell me the actual temperature. Or at least store some ice cream and see if it stays brick hard. Unless I have some idea of the actual temp I can't tell if defective freezer or alarm

on the side at the bottom is a panel. the thermostat is just inside, clockwise for colder.

Sounds like compressor is overheating and taking hours to restart. check by listening for the hum of the compressor shortly after it has reached temperature. also check the condenser is clean and fan working.

If all fans are running, but not compressor You could try to install 3 N 1 start kit, thats might help 50/50. If it will start compressor - be ready for compressor to go out soon. might work for a year.

have a good gasket and minimize unnecessary openings.

Probably needs to be vacuumed and a little oil, if that doesn't help the fan may need to be replaced

Locksmith.....just take the model number and serial number to them. If they can't, most likely have to be from the manufacture.

Which model freezer do you have? A few possible resets: press and hold the Set and + keys for 5+ seconds. On some models, that will get the freezer out of demo mode. On other models, it's the Set and Down arrow. For a few models, it's the Options and Up arrow. In all cases, it's press and hold both buttons until the unit responds.
