How do I tell how old my kenmore dryer is?
What exactly is this 'loud noise'? Is it a constant grinding or rumble sound that changes with drum speed or is is an occasional thumping, banging noise as the drum speeds up or slows down? A grinding or rumble is often a drum bearing and Thumping is commonly the 'suspension' the drum rides in to stop it 'walking across the room or shaking itself to pieces as it goes into high spin speeds. Your machine's age will only affect you if it is a very old machine and parts are difficult to find.

Start with the heating element. You won’t need a wiring diagram for that and it’s the most likely problem with the dryer. Watch a YouTube video on how to install.

- Ensure that the pump filter is clean.
- Replug the washer.
- Call a technician for diagnosis or replacement of the overflow contact or the pressure switch
Dryer won't start
capacitors are generally located quite close to the motor, and are easily changed, once you have gained access to the inside of the machine, that i can not help you with, it does sound like a capacitor but it could have also damaged the motor by trying to run it repeatedly, stop trying to use the appliance and change the capacitor, change with one the right size only,
work with safety remove plug when working on appliances, if i have helped rate me please
Why does my dryer vent smell like gas outside my house?
It is a gas appliance and as such should only be worked on by a qualified, registered gas technician. Call in a professional please. The gas to air mix is wrong. Techs use 'sniffers' to correct these days. You also have some sort of ignition or sensing problem. Your fixing method of 'let's try replacing this', never works and is expensive.
Any idea why my dryer is shutting off after a short time?
Sounds like the motor is going into thermal overload and shutting down. If you here a Buzzing noise when you start dryer motors bad. If after you start the dryer wait and stop it after 10 min and then try and restart it if it buzzes and rattles bad motor.
