Kelvinator Dishwashers - Page 4 - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support
I have just reeived a Kelvinator dishwasher KD12WW. I have only a cold water outlet can I still wash with it
I found a site that is important for you to down load the site is ns323666.ip-37-187-156.eu
It is a pdf version of the instruction manual for the dishwasher
I notice that one of the instructions is quote" when using your dishwasher , you should prevent plastic items from contacting the heating element" un quote
most all dishwashers heat their own water above what human hands can stand so from that statement you can use cold water inlet only and the machine will heat it to operating temperature
I got that site by going google and typing in --kelvinator kd12ww dishwasher
then I selected site manual-kelvinator kd12ww dishwasher clicked on that and that address came up with the pdf manual
there are other sites that have parts manuals and heaps of other information
call your local kelvinator service agent and ask them about a heating element
My normal and Eco light keep flickeing and there is still water in my filter
Hello. That flashing combo of lights is an error code telling you that something has malfunctioned. Most likely, from what you describe, the drain pump is clogged or jammed. I need the model number for a more exact diagnosis of the error code--its a digital code--the lights will flash a certain number of times, usually. The clue here is the water left standing in the tub. It means the drain pump failed to evacuate all the water out. When you cancel/drain, do you hear the drain pump turn on? If so, then the main board is activating properly and sending 120volts to the pump. Probably the pump is clogged with food or debris, and/or the drain hose is clogged. If you don't hear anything, then the kick panel(below the door) must be removed, the pump, wiring, main board must be checked. Check the filter inside the floor of the washer--if it's gunked up, the main pump can't spray properly and the drain pump can't pull water out.
Why are two brand new dishwashers giving me the same error?
as it is under warranty I would have the service agent back again and this time either fix the machine properly or replace it under the terms of the warranty or get a refund of the purchase price for the machine
it is obviously not fit for the purpose if two machines do the same thing
one thing to be aware of, if the elements are not getting hot enough, it may be advisable to check the power voltage into the machine at the power point as the mains voltage may be too low for the elements.

This is a common problem with this machine. Per the manual E4 indicates that the machine is overloaded but this is incorrect. The machines has actually become water logged due to a design fault whereby some water is allowed to pool at the bottom of the machine rather being efficiently drained. Note that the area where the water pools is not rust resistant. To temporarily overcome the E4 error, tilt your machine backwards and the excess water will drain out the back corners. Remember to put some towels down to avoid a big mop up operation afterwards. I live in a coastal area so drain the machine this way once a month and then open up the back of the machine (don't do this if still under warrantee) to dry it out completely to minimise the rust.
User manual for kelvinator extreme clean KD12WW
Need to check if Rinse Aid is not exhausted in the dispenser. It could also be necessary to increase the flow rate of rinse aid. Also make sure the dishwasher is heating water as some dishwashers use steam to dry. If heater is faulty the steam will not be there.
